I went to SGH clinic to see a specalist last week and i was billled $80+ but I didn't pay anything as it was stated on the bill as "MED CLAIM". I'm scheduled for x-ray and mri(costs $900!) next week and i'm hesitating to go as on the medical card I was being stated as "Private Patient" not "Subsidised Patient". I called the MRI dept and they say usually upon 11b, the fees will be paid by SAF but I'm afraid that they will deduct the sum fro my pay. I heard from my friends that only the first consulation will be charged and the subsequent ones will all be paid by SAF but my case is a little different as I walk in myself to the specalist clinic.
anyone wanna enlighten me on this issue? I have some fianical diffculties and i dont want to spend $900+ on this issue... :(

Walk-in by oneself... that's explains why... u r stated as a private patient NSF..
The rule for NSF private patient is that the 1st consultation bill, yes u will pay 1st (either by cash at counter or from monthly allowance); only then thereafter, subsequently, u can bill to SAF with ur 11b card.
