My tooth has been aching and i am currently in bmt week 2.How could i get my teeth clean for free in the medical center. Can someone please advise me on the course of action to take?
So.. The teeth cleaning process helps relief your toothache huh? And I thought a dental treatment would be faster.. Hmm..
But in any case, as long as you're still in training school, it's gonna be difficult. Coz' there is a training schedule your commanders have to stick to, so means that it'll be difficult to go for your appointment unless the toothache seriously hinders your training *hint hint*.
Plus by the time it's your turn to go for appointment, you might already be out of training school.. Oh, this waiting time doesn't apply to all ranks.. Naturally the senior officers wait much shorter than you this recruit.. Haha..
My suggestion?
Rich men's solution: See your own private dentist for immediate treatment.
Poor men's solution: Tahan & wait till you get posted to unit before making appointment, hoping that you don't die of pain in the meantime..

just report sick at tekong medical centre lah...
NSFs may only seek dental treatment at SAF Dental Centres for emergency dental conditions that arise during their service. (e.g. acute toothache, acute gum swelling, etc.)
The amount of subsidy received by Civil Servants & NSFs is capped at $10 per visit if they visit a private clinic, (e.g GP, neighbourhood family doctor). This subsidy is further capped at $350 per year for NSFs under the new Civil Service medical benefits scheme, the Medisave-cum-Subsidised Outpatient (MSO) Scheme.
All NSFs enlisted on or after 1 Jan 1994 are placed on this new Scheme.
The same principle of co-payment and caps applies to dental subsidies at private dental clinics. NSFs can be reimbursed 50% of their dental expenses, up to a cap of $70 per calendar year.
Since you are in Tekong BMT now, just submit the receipt* to your coy's office for the coy clerk to help you to claim on the Mindef Intranet's Personal Claims System (PCS)
*within 1 month from the date of the receipt
