Multilateral military exercises involving the Singapore Armed Forces will be held in Chaing Mai, Thailand until the 17th of this month.
The international group includes the Singapore Armed Forces, the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the United States Pacific Command, the Japanese Self-Defence Force and the Indonesian National Defence Forces.
Labled 'Exercise Cobra Gold', the five military groups will undertake activities that will focus on peace-keeping support and civilian evacuation operations.
Representatives from another 19 countries will also be involved in the exercise.
The 107-member SAF delegation will be led by Chief Guards Officer, Brigadier-General Tung Yui Fai and will take the role of staff planners for the Combined Joint Task Force.
The SAF will also be involved in the field training exercise phase and the Medical Civil Assistance Programme, providing medical and dental services to residents of Chiang Mai.
