just curious to know if anyone could tell me what are my chances of being selected for the CDO VA,
here are my stats,
-Just completed secondary 5, O lvl holder
-CCA wise, got a pretty good record, was fairly active & and held quite a few leadership roles
=NCC, once got a best cadet award by HQ, attained the rank of MSG, was the CSM
=100m marksmen and represented school in live firing comp
-178cm, 90kg, i was carrying weights very intensly during my sec 2-3 days, got gold for napha, slacked ever since and gained roughly 18kgs, still can manage 20 push ups though
-eyesight, 300++ both eyes
-no past medical history whatsoever
-Chinese and not the only son
-strong interest in joining the unit
but most importantly i have till now and march 29th to register for NS or defer, was wondering if there would be any intakes for CDOs during this period, im aware that one's chances of getting selected are also largely affected by your enlistment timing.
thanks in advance =]
Anyway, Mindef is the one choosing the selected candidates to go for the VA selection test for Commando mono-intake, not you, the pre-enlistee.
You have to do the NS Registration, CMPB medical checkup 1st.
If you are PES A/B, only then you are generally in the large pool of pre-enlistees candidates where Mindef will pick and choose the selected few to go for the VA.
And nowadays, with the education standards rising, the Commando Formation will usually prefer 'A' Level / Polytechnic graduates as a basic requirement for NSF Commando recruits.
