SINGAPORE: An SAF regular serviceman, Second Warrant Officer Poh Eng Ann, died Friday night.
Mindef said on Saturday he was found unconscious on Friday evening at 6.05pm, in a flight crew room at the Paya Lebar Air Base.
This is the second death of an SAF regular serviceman in two weeks.
Mindef explained that the 36-year-old air force senior technician was attended to immediately by a medical team from the Paya Lebar Air Base Medical Centre where doctors continued their attempts to resuscitate him.
He was later sent to the Changi General Hospital where the SAF doctors and medics team continued their attempts to resuscitate him en route to the hospital.
But Second Warrant officer Poh was pronounced dead at 7.24pm at the Changi General Hospital.
The Defence Ministry and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late Second Warrant Officer Poh.
Mindef is investigating the incident.
On April 17, another SAF regular serviceman, Master Warrant Officer P. Jegathesan, collapsed after completing a three-kilometre mass run at the SAFTI Military Institute Sports Complex.
45-year-old Jegathesan died at the National University Hospital.

hoho some kinda curse from the souls of dead and vengeful nsfs?
He's just 36. A very young age.
u just see the age...is getting younger and younger...55 to 45 to 36...
Do you actually notice.... whenever 1 dies... in a short span of time (say in 1-3 months).. there will always be 2-3 more cases.
what on earth is happening sia... RIP.
last yr it was a series of death of NSF.
now its regular WO...
something is really wrong.
sad to hear all this, RIP
2 deaths in 2 weeks... that is alot. If this happens in the childcare centre (like due to hfmd), all childcare centres in singapore would haven been closed down.
So is SAF going to close down all the camps? Maybe some viruses or bacteria are attacking SAF personnels.
Anyway, it is really sad to see healthy people die just like this, especially doing things like a morning jog and then ya are dead.
My condolences to the family of the deads and hope they can come to accept the death of their love ones. May God be with you all during this period of pain.
why is it that deaths on SAF always follows a series or pattern?

Death Note.
yes death note...a Nsmen or former Nsmen who beri tulan about last time his batch tekan beri badly and see the current NS people having it easy and not happy...or he have been tekan-ed by his superior so badly that he wants revenge on SAF...
if there were other people in same age range who have undergone similar exercises under the same intensity and length, why is it that some unfortunate souls would succumb while others didnt
we dont have to close down the camps because of this. Proper dieting and nutrition should be advocated-simple lessons like these should be more advocated.
see how NS literally kills...? haha...hope it sends out a message to all that want to sign on...
no reason to speculate.

errr he is in air force and is an air force technician. he had the same death risk as a technician working in SATS or ST aerospace..
allan ooi was in fact not from the army, but was in RSAF. I wonder why Mindef didn't clarify the mistake made by the media when they wrote the letters to the media about that weakling.
It is all about knowing your general health and fitness before taking part in any kind of physical activity...especially when you are over 35.The name P Jegathesan sounds very familiar can anyone here tell me which camp he was from?
another one bites the dust

If you have nothing constructive to contribute, please don't. This is not a thread for poking fun or making wide generalisations.
Try embedding yourself as a civilian technician in a warzone before you comment.
shit...I know him...I did medals for him before...very sad that he has left the world...
Hi,
by the way, just to let u know he didn't die due to cardio. Investigation is still going on.
mlmersrlosers: What medals did u do for him?
to gloater:
he had more risks as in any military organisation. civilian jobs are no match in dangerous duty as compared to any military job as usual.
perhaps the food is n ot fresh from cookhouse or from contractors who are trying to cut down on costs.
in the old days b4 the recessions, the contractors provided decent food.now currently.....i or we would rather order out or stare at food in container for a very long time.
what u all need is fresh food to give you more strength....i wonder if there are sudden deaths in the us army or any other army.
