Reservist: Official Statutory Age ?

in the Recruit handbook(given after CMPB checkup) it states:
Your military service as an NSman will end at the age of 50 if you are an officer or have special skills. Otherwise, you will serve untill the age of 40.
Please advise! what can i do (or what kind of people) to prevent myself from becoming an officer or specialist? 10years to me makes quite big difference..

Girls dont.
People with missing eye, missing leg, missing hand, no arms no legs no need to serve NS.
Son of PM do serve NS (Although he got himself into some trouble a few years ago, they are normally white horses and will become officer)
CEO of a rich company also need to serve, it doesnt matter who he is, as long he is a Singaporean or Singaporean-to-be, with able body, will serve NS.
As for your worries about becoing a officer... its very easy to avoid becoming one. Just tell your superior you dont want. Perform just enough to pass your BMT is enough and safe.
Usually they only choose those with leadership qualities to become officer and these people must have a minimum diploma or A'Levels, or in truly exceptional case, O'Level is enough.
Lets assume you are unlucky and got posted to a officer school, its easy to get out from there too. I dont need to tell u how, when u enlist, all the things and answers will surely come to you naturally.
