Hi this is kinda of embarrasing to ask, you see i am now working as a temp accountant after getting retrenched 2 months ago.
I had 2 session of 2nd interviews of a permanent jobs this week, but i am scheduled for a RT session on june this year.
My question is should i tell them i have RT during the second interview if they express interest in employing me or should i tell them after i sign the letter of appointment.

Ethical wise, you should tell them during your 2nd interview.
If they really want you for the job, they will take you in, don't worry.
very simple.....your priority is to get that Job. Do what it takes to get that job. If your gut feel says that telling the RT will not help you get the job than scrap it
Deal with it after you get the job.
Remember employers choose not employees choice....

u can't tell people not to worry unless u r paying his bill.
RT is not a full-day thing, and it's like 3x a week? And it'll be over once you pass your IPPT. So, you should tell.
You should get the job first... only after getting then inform them... but assure them only 2 months... or if you would rather be frank then tell them when you have the interview...
the RT is at 6pm right? So you probably would have to left at 5pm latest... so suck thumb, just have to let them know. Unless you wanna wait until august then look for job, which i think its still a long time to go.
If you dont go for RT, its alright.. just wait for being charged. no need go DB but then have to fine.. after which second offence would then result in you getting hauled into the detention barracks.
just pass the ippt, then no rt liao what...
keep fit... keep fit is ur personal and healthy matter, not the govt problem...
its beneficial to u and ur family on a personal level and on ur life...
shit rt man.i already sacrifice my 2 years to the army now after army they still dont let me go

I will have to say this is the best piece of advice thus far.

I second that. 30mins each time, 2-3 times a week of workout... that's all it takes. Not only avoid RT, probably reduce MC, medical costs, etc.
TO ALL THOSE WONDERING WHAT IPPT AND RT MEANS.....
IPPT(INDIVIDUAL PHYSICAL PROFICIENCY TESTS) IS A STATION OF 5 PHYSICAL FITNESS ATHLETE STANDARD TESTS WHICH NO NORMAL CIVILIAN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD CAN PASS WITHOUT 3 MONTHS OF INTENSIVE SELF TRAININGS SACRIFICING FREEDOM,JOB DEDICATION AND FAMILY.ONLY THOSE THAT ARE BORN PHYSICALLY FIT LIKE AN ATHLETE HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TESTS.
RT(REMEDIAL TRAININGS) IS A SERIES OF PUNISHMENTS AND FORCED CONFINEMENTS AT A TRAINING CAMP OR STADIUM FOR EVERY YEAR.PUNISHMENTS INCLUDES 2 HOURS OF STRENOUS ACTIVITY FROM PUMPING IRON TO RUNNING N OTHER PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES ALMOST NON-STOP.
TRANSPORT TO TRAINING ATHLETE CAMPS WOULD BE 2 HOURS TO AND FRO.TOTAL TIME USED PER DAY FOR RT TRAININGS IS 4HRS.NO FOOD OR SIGNIFICANT ALLOWANCES ARE SIGHTED.TRAININGS ARE 3 DAYS A WEEK,,,,SOME ALMOST EVERY DAY.

RT phase 1 only 2 days, phase 2 then 3 days.
IPPT is not so bad la, you are scaring those who haven't enter army yet.
I DONT SCARE!
ASK ANYONE IN HIGH END INDUSTRY.....CEPT FOR HAWKERS.U CANT PROGRAM SOFTWARE N KEEP YER JOB WHEN U NEED TO GO DO IPPT!!
FUCK MR, GENERALE SITTING SO HIGH HE CANT SEE HIS ARSE EVEN!N
Just bloody pass the IPPT and you wouldnt have problems. If not go throught the RT program or take the easy way out and downgrade.
Anyway i see those going for RT not so bad, do some fitness training and most of the time they get to go back earlier than scheduled. Just take it as something unavoidable as a citizen of Singapore, not much you can do about it unless you intend to migrate.
Anyway do anybody knows how they maintain the fitness of Israeli reservists? Maybe SAF can take a few pointers.
TO MANX:
THE ISRAELI RESERVIST TOLD ME THEIR COMMANDING OFFICERS DONT PUSH OR EVEN PUNISH THEM!JUST SAY...U CAN DO BETTER,,,,END OF STORY!SOUTH KOREANS RESERVISTS ARE ALSO VERY RELAXED.....ONLY 3 DAYS RESERVIST IN A YEAR...NO IPPT OR R/T N ALL THOSE BLOODY CRAP!N THEY ARE COUNTRIES STILL AT WAR!SPORE WAR WIV WHO HAR???WAR WIV TER SHADOW IS IT??
SINGAPORE ON THE OTHER HAND ARE MOSTLY DESCENDANTS OF COOLIES AND PEOPLE WITH NO BRAINS.NO BRAINS SO GOT ONLY PHYSICAL MUSCLES.SO IPPT ONLY EASY FOR PEOPLE WITH NO BRAINS!

No wor, COD run about 5 times a week.
His 2.4km can hit under 9 mins.
IPPT and RT are a waste of time...

...because if you cannot pass, no matter how much RT you go for, most likely you will still end up failing IPPT.
TO FORBIDENSINNER:

Why thank you.
thanks for all your feedback, but its kinda of getting out of topic, all i am asking is whether should i inform my employer i have RT during my second interview well any way i told them bot during my interview, they said having RT once every year is ok if it does not clashes with their schedule, which mean they hint that they do not like people taking time off for RT.
Anyway this is my first RT session , to be frank i been getting silver ($200) for my previous 4 ippt test, i flunk due to my standing broad jump as i i sprain my hip after a fall and it clashes with my ippt dates and also i was hospitalised for dengue fever during the perid which means i kinda lose my touch.

RT once every year, what is you employers thinking?
RT is a zai-jie-zai-li thing, where got once a year one?
You are right in saying that your employers don't want you to go for RT, so I suggest you better by hook or by crook find someway to clear it, otherwise you may have to part with this job.
eh??u told yer prospective employer about yer rt???man.......and what did they tell u on second interview????normally second interview is when they ask u sign or wait to sign for the employment letter!!!
???eh???why u tell them???rt once every year is ok???the interviewer must certainly be malaysians from sound of it. They must have mistaken rt for reservist training n not remedial training....its ok.. as long as u get job to pay bills!or u can go stare at forbidden sinner angrily after a few weeks later when u dun hear from yer prospective company.
Also dun know wat to say, guess they do not wan a guy who come in and straight away take time off to do RT, anyway i test myself last nite, i am within the silver timing for my age group but i can never be too sure i can clear it in one shot after 1 month of RT as i heard they will test us every month
but what bout yer outcome from that second interview?
