do they administer the psychometric test to everyone who applies to their job openings?
or do they screen the cvs first then invite the candidates for test?
I heard the govt sectors now can afford to be snobbish.......psycho test, written essay, referees, multi rounds of interviews etc.
Wait till the recession is over, they can go back to square one n beg for people to join them.....
haha...demand and supply..
anyone knows.....
Most applicants will be given the psychometric test. But from 2nd round onwards, it's much more challenging.
Some positions will require you to do a policy paper as a test. :)
cld u expand a lil bit more? wat policy paper for eg?

its more on an essay type of assessment... on a given topic with ur input as what do-able policies can u make, implement or suggest/ recommend to solve the topic they gave in the essay...
since a DXO job is more on policy-making defence planner...
I TGHOUGHT DXO JUST PUSH A PEN N WONDER WHAT THEIR JOB REALLY IS ALL ABOUT.
Yes, psychrometric tests irregardless, need to pass.
'the pen is mightier than the sword'
this phrase u never heard b4 meh...

Similar to Rednano's explanation. Other positions may require you to write papers that deal with defence relations or foreign policy.
Terminator, DXOs at Ministry staff level work far more hours than some private sector counterparts. And no, they don't push pens and wonder about what their job is about. Don't let the lazy ones you may encounter in camps, delude you into thinking that that's what the job is like.

No. There are many departments in MINDEF that do specific tasks, and DXOs are not only found in camps, but also higher HQs and MINDEF.
If you look at the job vacancies in the VOG portal, it will give you a rough idea of the diversity. I will not elaborate further on the organisational structure within MINDEF though.
S1's are easy job though..

govt sectors always got alot of people applying to join regardless of recession or no recession..
You apply the job liao they wait for 1 month or 3 months later than ask you go for interview..
most govt sectors are farked up..they put up 1 position and say 20 people apply for it and they ask all 20 people come for interview..
that is why i hate applying for govt job..
