I've injured my lower back before from weight lifting. No papers,no checkup. Not from a financially capable of spending $$ to keep going checkup, especially back which requires xray and this and that.
I figured it will be fine after a while. Seems like until now its not (been 1.5 years).
Normally its fine, however, coupled with an extra bone in feet / flat feet (looks like flat feet but doc mentioned its just an extra bone), my back gets really pain after walking or standing for 30mins. And my feet can't run for more than 20mins before the ''extra bone'' gets painful.
Well since i'll be entering NS from about a year from now, i was wondering if i would need to go see a specialist for my back or anything? The doctor who checked my feet mentioned it is ok / shouldn't be a problem, but i still can't run/walk/stand for long (not stamina problem, feet problem)
If doctor say back no problem, won't i jialat? I pain but doctor/medical officer in ns don't know.
go NS, use SAF to pay
So after go in already then say got problem? I don't think i can even run the 2.4km in the NAPFA i have in 2-3months. I scared they put me PES A then make me chiong, unless i faint they won't care one. (thats what i heard)
Stamina isn't the problem, its my feet. Pullups no problem at all, 20~ or so.
go chiong
feel painful
see MO
SAF pay for x-ray
simple?
when i say painful will they believe or just think geng one
my friend that time leg got problem, medical officer didn't care. get in, run run run until whole feet pain but they don't believe, after that feet swollen like crazy, then they get him to see a medic or something.
I scared that scenerio lol, my back screw up, i scared affected for life

If u are afraid then spent some money and see a specialist. Go polyclinic and its cheaper if they recommend you to visit specialist compare to you go directly to 1 on ur own.
1 thing i scared is that my back might end up like the feet case. Go there spend so much money say , "extra show extra bone but shouldn't be a problem".
I don't want to spend so much then in the end tell me they cant find problem with the back, with that said, no way they can write a letter or some sort for the medical checkup.
Don't beat around the bush when you are hoping for a desk job.Go see a specialist and if you dont succeed try try again.
i dont care if i get into a desk job or not. I'm not one who's afraid of training, been weight lifting for close to 3 years now.
What do you mean by don't succeed? If they find no problem you keep going back???
lol, first u gotta report to the MO, but if ure posted to tekong BMTC 1 / 2, they're real hardasses cuz they're freshly washed captains, just out of med. they'll send you for x-rays on scene at tekong and if they cant find anything wrong and youre still having problems, theyll send u to CGH (Changi General Hospital) for further investigation. Either CGH will admit you or just send you back to tekong. If they admit you, theyll take some tests in context with your back problem, then either discharge you with a few days MC or suggest you be downgraded to the SAF Medical Board. Yea and if it doesnt work, go to a specialist and see what can be done, most of the time, the MOs listen to the specialist lol, cuz MOs are considered General Practitioners. Good luck, and if you dont succeed the first time, try and try and try again till you get it. Just like ShortNinja suggested.

You should get all the medical problem document down first. After you go to camp is very long and difficult to downgrade. You just make life easier for yourself, MO, and SAF.

THE KEY is also to leave a historical record, showing and on going symptom.
But warn you that you will have trouble with insurance company in the future
