my ippt 2.4 run timing is usually abt 11mins. i just found out that i have ippt on the 28th of Dec. is it possible to train myself to achieve a gold standard of below 9min45s? what kind of training schedule shld i follow?
Are you on the cat X zone? I think the best solution is to keep running and running to improve your endurance soon you will see the result.
i am under Cat X. so basically i gotta do lots of running. so at one instance, for how long shld i run? what distance and for what spand of time?
To be truth, I never achieve 9.45 and below cos of my weight which is 90kg and my best timing was 10.30 but constant running really will improve the built up of stamina and endurance.
Maybe you can try a 4km run and see what is your timing and from there you gradually cut down the timing so when the actual test starts it won't be so xiong.
thx dude. . . i'll start a running routine and see how that improves my timing. never liked plain running. not enjoyable at all but i guess i got suck it up and make the grade for the 400 bucks =) a little far-fetched but its worth the effort
I never ran 9.45 before. Best timing is below 10.30 but never 9.45.
way to improve 2.4 is to run n run n yea run..
LOL..
try running more than 2.4 to improve ur stamina then run 400m to train your speed ( u probably need it at the last 400m)
I am cat 0

good luck.. !
i really wanna try all that i can to get under 9min45s. i have no prob with the rest. if i try my best and fail to get the gold then i guess its meant to be. but if i dont try, i'll never know my true capabilities. train for my personal fitness and get money for doing it.... so, why not!
thx for the luck!

you should incorporate aerobic and anaerobic exercises..
apart from long distance running which improves ur endurance and stamina, you should also try to incorporate sprints, for e.g. 5 x 400m.. it'll help you too.
what exactly are aerobic and anaerobic exercises? differences?
as for the sprints, should i do that on the same day with long distance running or another day?
thx weymas

Hi BryanO,
Aerobic Exercises are exercises where your body consume oxygen while you are exercising. They are low to mid intensity exercises aimed at building up your endurance, and includes swimming and slow jog.
Anaerobic Exercises are exercises where your body do not consume oxygen while you are exercising. They are high intensity exercises aimed at building up your speed, and includes interval sprinting.
I will suggest that you do not do both types of training on the same day, and alternate between the two of them on alternate days.
Cheers.
