Hi xoxoZz,
You will be getting a mixture of off and leave. Your company clerk will apply them for the entire company, and you will have to inform your PC that you are going overseas.
Cheers.
ahh.. ya wrote wrongly.. days off.. not leave.. Hmm only a few days ah? coz some of my friends told me got ard 1 week plus..
Around when then you'll be informed the confirmed dates of break or have to wait till POP then only they will let you know?
coz i want to book air ticket but can't confirm whether got break or not

Hi xoxoZz,
You will have 7 days of leave, and the rest will be off-in-lieu.
You will be informed about 1~2 weeks before you POP, according to my sibling. You may wish to ask your Platoon Commander more about it.
Cheers.

There is NO 7 days leave. A NSF that is enlisted in Sept/Oct only has around 3~4 days of leave entitlement while the rest are off given due to burnt weekends.
8th Dec POP, posting should be around 18th Dec and 21st Dec report to new unit.
If you want to go overseas, inform ur PC etc since you do not have a unit yet.

Hi dkcx,
My humble apologies for not taking the time of enlistment into consideration.
Here is another thread which xoxoZz may wish to have a look at:

Block leave for BMT regardless of period of enlistment is always from the day of POP till the sunday of the following week. Even for those severely obese RECs who serve 6 months, they will have a short block leave inbetween their 6 months training to clear any of the offs and leaves they have for that 3 months before returning back to tekong for the next 3 months. This is to ensure all RECs POP/POC from tekong at about the same time and can enter training school together with as little interruption as possible.
The number of leaves used in block leave regardless of enlistment month is also generally fixed at 3-4 days which is the REC's entitement for that 3 months in tekong.

Hi dkcx,
Thank you for correcting me about the exact number of days of leave used during Block Leave.
Cheers.
normally its about 1.5 to 2 weeks of leaves + off.. but yes if u enlisted in the 3rd quarter u normally tan tio because by right u only have 3-4 days of leaves.

It could be due to the christmas holiday so they given 1 extra day since alot of units have cohesion or half day on the 24th so posting might be delayed.
However this year Mon falls on 21st which is not near enough to Christmas for them to delay the 1st day of posting.

PS. i same day pop as u then

POP on Dec 8. PC applied for leave 15th to 20th. So what will be doing after Dec 8 before 15th? Resting at home or can go overseas? So if it is the case, 1st day of posting will be on 21st Dec...right?
some time b4 POP they will tell you when to check for ur posting, then you know like the next day is the day u report to the unit.
and that is also the time you shld inform your commanders if you are going overseas during block leave, anyway they will ask you also

From 8th to 20th its a mixture of leave and offs not only leave from 15th-20th.
Anyone who wants to go overseas has to inform your PC before you POP. Its best to take initiative and inform in case they forget to ask.
If everything goes according to expectation, 1st day reporting to unit will be 21st.
If certain activities are not able to pass before the POP, I heard need to stay back for a week or few days for extra training or test, then come out before 15 Dec. If still not able to pass, then how? since most of the recruits have booked their overseas trip etc...

Some coys will call their RECs back for things like range, 24km etc if they have a large enough population who did not complete it during their BMT. In a way this is to allow the REC to complete their BMT and not recourse in future.
However that is subjected to the individual companies and not all will do such a thing.
Most of the stuff requires you to have participated except range which generally requires a pass since unit will not conduct BTP.
If you belong to 1 of the unlucky few who kanna called back during block leave then ur holiday trip just has to be cancelled since they can call u back on the off days during block leave.
ok, thanks.
But if really that unlucky, called back after Dec 15th , then have to cancel air ticket last minute? then waste $$ la... I mean already paid airfare for oversea trip on 15th dec

That chances are relatively low unless theres really a large bulk of people in ur unit that missed that activity. Really suay then will kanna de so don't wory about it too much.
bro u going command school? i joining sispec i think same batch as yours.
if could not pass few activities/tests, such as SOC, IPPT (1-2 stations), then how? downgrade PES or will be back after POP for 1 week? If still could not pass, then what will happen?
Originally posted by safetyleo:if could not pass few activities/tests, such as SOC, IPPT (1-2 stations), then how? downgrade PES or will be back after POP for 1 week? If still could not pass, then what will happen?
Down PES is ONLY for medical reasons.
In BMT, almost everyone will fail SOC so thats normal. IPPT certain coy might ask u go back for extra training if you fail but not all. IPPT is BMT is not considered regardless you pass or fail anyway since the actual annual IPPT test needs to be taken at unit.
The only thing you die die must pass during BMT should be range since units do not conduct BTP. Field camp just need participate in most of the activities can liao.

no such thing..no downgrade.
still cannot pass? then your unit ( u will know after u come back from break ) will make sure u pass..
whack until u ORD..
