After POP, Get MC = No Need To Do Tekong Guard Duty

Cuz i jus poped and were one of the lucky ones who were given extra duty to do. Unfortunately, i injured my leg (shin and knee pain) after a run. I called back to the cos and told him i cant do the duty and he told me to find a replacement. The thing is i dun haf their contacts and so he gave me some and were asked to call em. Like WTF?
I guess it's super hard for me to find some1 to replace me as the duty is on sat. So if i still cannot find a replacement, do i need to go back for duty even if i'm on mc?

Its always a guard personnel to find his own replacement should he not be able to do his duty. Certain units will plan reserve but not all will so its up to the individual guards to do it. Since its tekong guard duty which is not counted at all by unit, its not going to be easy to find replacement.
If you die die cannot find replacement, you will have to report for guard duty and see whether they can give you some slight straining duty to do.
Getting MC etc won't be useful since being on MC means you still need find someone to replace you or else you are the 1 who get in trouble.

Mc mean that u are unfit and needed to rest at home.... if u go back to camp and smth happen to u.... then they need to write hell lots of report and risk getting themselve into trouble.. call them and tell them again if u really cant find replacement... provided ur case is real.. i think Mo can void ur Mc if they find u fit....

Physical injury can sometimes be given desk type job such as working in pass office rather than prowler/sentry depending on camp and their guardroom procedures so certain camps will still make personnels with TS's injury to still report for guard duty and do something within their means.

Hi Botak249,
Since you have got some of their numbers from the COS, you may wish to try to call them up first and see if any of them is kind enough to help you do your Guard Duty.
If no one is willing to help you out, then you will have no choice but to call the COS again and see his decision.

Call them up and sell them your Duty. Weekend at least $70, I think.
Since your situation is not really that bad, odds are you will have to do the duty if no one help you out. If it was a high fever or something along that line, I believe it will not be too hard for them to call up another unlucky recruit to take over you.

tt time after i POP from BMT also got guard duty.. I was one of the handful who didnt kena during BMT time. knowing the risk is very high, I quickly applied OL on the 1 day before n after the guard duty day (they announced earlier it was to be a thursday)

After POP I had to do re-24km and I took mc also lol. But still had to go back on that day to show them my mc and take a ferry back again to go home that night. What a waste of time.
U just call back the COS and tell him that you weren't able to find a replacement and ask him to kindly help you call them up. Be polite and humble and they will probably will treat you fairly. But thats 50/50 chance nia. But high chance they will ask you to come back and do the duty. But they will give you sentry duty la, I got people with status in my unit but they had to do sentry anyway. For MC-wise I am not too sure.

You just pop'd, so ur now considered a soldier, therefore act like one. This is army, not some sch. If u can't find a replacement to replace ur duty, juz b a man, go back and do ur duty. 24hr duty onli nia, I've done 48hr before.

I would not consider RP's as doing guard duty since thats their vocation and their work in the army while all the other NSFs have guard duty besides their own vocational work.

Tekong prowling only meh? I did sentry at the camp ferry entrance on Tekong side once leh. But I mostly do prowling at the dark dark and ulu ammo dump deep inside. -

They last min postpone the date ... When my fren told me his coy cancel guard duty , i strongly doubt it's fair because seems like my coy always the 1 doing it. Poor me, kana this kind of thing once not enuff, still twice ....

Tekong should have new RECs liao so why will postpone the dates and make you all go back for guard duty?
Furthermore, after this week, tekong can no longer touch you as you are under your unit's control in a sense.
