Hello... Here to ask about the possibility of signing on to the police force after my unit posting (18th Dec)? Main reason why I cannot do it now (and didn't do it before) was because my parents are against it... It has always been my childhood dream, but my family wants me to at least get a degree first...
Hope I can convince my parents soon =/

There is unlikely to be any problem. You will be reposted to the police force and undergo their training if you are accepted by SPF but till then, you will continue to serve your NS in SAF.

Hi SayHelloandbye,
Perhaps you will wish to consider following what your parents have advised and finish your degree studies first. From what I know, for the Singapore Police Force, having a degree with good honours do make a lot of difference in your pay.
Cheers.
Thats true, after having a degree, you can still sign on for police as a senior officer with better career prospect and pay. That way you can satisfy your parents and fufil your childhood dream.
And if you can afford it financially.
Do up for a degree, and join the Volunteer Special Constabulary to get a taste of what Police Life is all about.
Then you can decide how you might want to utilise your degree further.
