Hello guys,
I know that IPPT would be worst than napfa. I am however, still 15 years old. I currently do 14 pull ups, 58 sit ups, running 2.4km in 9minutes 40 seconds, as well as sit and reach of 56cm, rather average and acceptable scores i think.
I do, however, encounter problems when performing the shuttle run and standing broad jump stations. I achieve scores <200cm for standing broad jump. I also achieve scores of around 11seconds + for my shuttle run. That sucks.
As a result, i have 5 points for every station, except for shuttle run and standing broad jump, in which i barely pass. I have 3 more years to go, i would appreciate it if you guys would give me training tips on how to get 5 points for both these stations.
I am not trying to keng through anything, i wanna work hard and do well for these stations. PS: i have went through the napfa secrets manual, but would like more tips ( eg. exercises, technique, supplements. etc) on how to pass. thanks.

If u can do the rest so well, these 2 static stations are all technics most likely you have not been using the correct technics.
Umm thanks tarutaru. can you elaborate? eg. posture. etc, cos im not so sure about my form. Oh yeah, heard that posting to command schs depend on education and cca as well as leadership. I hold a leadership position in sch UG and i would be most likely going jc/poly next year. should i go for ug officer course after sec 4 to enhance cca record?

You cca record will have little effect on ur chance of command school so that is not important though the skills you have learnt could be useful.
3 years is alot of time for you to improve..
u can do some sprinting practise.. shuttle run need speed.. but what more important is
u must have steady hand. grab the brick n go..if not u are screwed.
run straight..turn properly..many pple like to run a ' U ' shape..which is wrong.. doing this your timing will increase.
sbj? hmm.. i not very good at this.result on n off.
everyday go gym pump muscle
from head to toe will do...

this question so wide.. dont even know whats your vocation yet.. n u are only 15.
ill say.. enjoy your life..play hard study hard.
lol.
it's only 3 yrs....and plus, for some weird reason, time seems to pass faster and faster as i grow older....0_0
You can do tug jump, squat, and chicken leg (in which you hold your ankle and keep on going up and down).. this is effective for standing board jump...
For shuttle run, you must do more sprinting... and try to improve on your turning...

Hi E7E72,
For Standing Broad Jump, besides the suggestions which some of the forummers have kindly suggested, you can also try lifting heavy weights and do frog hops.
As for shuttle run, I believe there is something very wrong with your grabbing and turning techniques. If you can run 2.4km in 9 minutes and 40 seconds, you should be able to run 40m in 9.67s mathematically wise. You may wish to seek help from your PE teachers with regards to your techniques.
Anyway, I strongly agree with the other forummers that you should focus on your studies first. You will not be entering National Service for quite a while, but you will be taking your "O"-level in two years time.
Cheers.
Yeah, i'll try. I have spent more time on studying this holiday instead of training. Now pull ups drop to 12 le. will build up more when napfa is coming. sbj.....nth to do but jump. jump and jump again le
