Hi I'm a 17 year old and I'll probably be enlisting in NS quite soon. I THINK I have obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and I really cannot camp due to the many rituals I adopt. I'm wondering if I will have some exemptions from BMT. I'm really afraid that the officers won't let me do my 'rituals'. I am not diagnosed. Some help please? Thanks!

If you have OCD, you will have to visit a psychiatrist and have it diagnosed. Your PES and stuff will be determined base on how the psychiatrist considers your condition and your suitability for NS. However i do not believe OCD is valid for a complete excuse from NS.
It might be better for you to just try reduce or get over your OCD since its still a disorder and not the norm of the general population.
Problem is, I don't really need full exemptions. Just some special adjustments for me to continue living without worry.

It is unlikely SAF will make special provisions for you so its better for you to work in your problem before you enlist than hope for SAF to make special adjustments for you.
I know of person in a friend's unit who had OCD. He was given menial tasks such as clerical and admin work. Depending on the extent of your OCD I guess.

Most people with psychological disorders tend to get admin work n such but still he cannot let his condition affect the work he does.

Nope. Its just I can't stand not doing whatever I need to do. Like washing hands and feet and wiping my personal belongings.

In army, you and all your things will get dirty very easily especially in field camp etc. You won't even have water to wash anything.

don't worry !!!! OCD is a great asset in the army ! You'll go far !
you'll soon develop new rituals like "obsessively polishing your boots", "obsessively sweeping the company line", "obsessively cleaning the toilet" etc ..... your unit mates would love you for your quirks .......
of course, if you are still afraid of serving, then there's always .....
Hey,
I have OCD too and I was given a PES E1L9.
To be honest, I wouldn't describe my condition as particularly debilitating so I wasn't expecting a PES E... but that's not my prerogative.
Too many OCDs in Singapore. Probably PES E.
TS, please get your OCD confirmed by a psychiatrist before saying. If you really have OCD a suitable PES status will be given to you. Should you need any other special arrangements, you could speak to your future superior(s), accomodating to your OCD is not an entitlement, but more of a privillege.
Having said that, manlingering is a chargable offence even at pre-enlistment. OCD is a mental illness, and by that respect, treat other mental patients with respect, and not as a ticket to something else.

Will those superiors really be willing to allow me special accomodations?

As gd4u has said.... get your condition properly diagnosed by a proper psychiatrist first.
Don't talk about 'special accommodations' if you don't even have a specialist's letter testifying to your condition.
