Without appropriate compensation, reducing the NS duration would be unfair to those other males who have already sacrificed the best part of their lifes to it.
What we need is to get rid of the rediculous sexist expectation for all males to be the cannon folder and make NS mandatory for females too. Equality goes both ways.

Yah ok like that all who have served could get together one suny afternoon and demand compensation just like those sex slaves from WW II .LOL
I am for SAF reducing the NS time significantly but maintaining reservists training.At the same time get more people to signed on to make it a professional regular army that should include more women in all the vocations.Or use the money from the hugh defence budget to pay NS men a more respectable salary so that young people can finaly stop whining and serve the farking nation.
