Hellow everyone,
I was wondering. If lets say I applied for pilot, when would I sign on the dotted line? Because I'm wondering if RSAF will ask you to sign before you commence your pilot training or only after you have successfully completed your training.
If the first scenario is true, and say I failed my pilot training then will I still be liable to serve my contract? Since I signed on to be a pilot but instead is unable to pass the tests.

It is the first scenario. If you fail, be ready to pay up.
O_O Then out of all those people that apply for pilot, so many of them failed. So all of them have to pay RSAF money?? That's insane!! O_O" How much do they need to pay by the way??
Don't find trouble for yourself. =.=
I'm not trying to find trouble.. I just wanted to clarify how the process of signing on to be a pilot works. Because about a month ago I applied for pilot. And I have no idea what will happen if I pass my tests.
after you officially sign the papers, you're considered as a regular. but at any point of time during the 2-3 years course of becoming a RSAF pilot you fail, then you turn back to NSF. most trainees fail at the first stage. from what i know, they don't need to pay back anything, nor liable for the 10 years of service. they get to keep their regular pay of around 2k up to the point when they fail the course.
so if i fail then the contract would be voided? and may i know which is the first stage?? the 3 tests that we are required to take? or up to airgrading course?
so if i sign on pilot, in actual fact i have nothing to lose? cuz if i fail the tests, then my contract will be voided and i will return to being a nsf??

fyi, if your progress is not up to scratch the contract also will be terminated.
ya im aware of it.. just want to know if i fail to meet the mark will i still be held liable to fulfill my end of the contract..
which part u miss the point?
revert back to NSF = National Service (Full-time).
contract terminated, null and void = no more a regular = serve finish the remainder of the 2 years compulsory NS and f* off back to the civilian status.
what i said was in reference to my previous statements.. it didnt meant i didnt understand -.-
thanks to everyone who contributed btw

you are obviously dumb. please don't sign on and waste the taxpayers like me our money. stay and rot in the private sector, probably in some small little foreign company that thinks it's a "MNC" when it hires less than 100 people here and does not give out a single cent of bonus.
just go for it.....if u fail as a pilot u can go back n be a nsf.u need to be serious when flying......its really simple.those that didnt make it were really angry people but generally they would make it if they have read and understood Strandard operations practice.flying a jet is really a piece of cake....with modern technology and simulators at home and at base it should be easy now as a pilot unless u are out boozing and clubbing.
just remeber to get mock cutouts of cockpit overhead and pedestal control panels with gauges etc..
if u dont go for it,the $$$$ would end up being gambled away by incapable financial entities such as Temasek or spore university scholarships given to vietnamese and china citizens as in the past.
just make sure yer folks would get substantial $$$$ if u died or get involved in some military accident.
many were called as pilots but few were chosen.they either had gangster attitudes or made their own standard practice or didnt read them from start.so far i only knew 2 that didnt make it as pilots.just remeber to land the plane gently like a pro from computer games etc.
even boys and girls nerdy types could become military pilots in spore.:)
but after their lengthy contract there might not be much of a job opening for their skills unless they have connections outside.
maybe if its a lifelong career to a general rank like most armies,,,,,,that would be better.

Those loser things you mentioned above given to the foreigners in the number of thousands every year with no standard whatsoever when awarded, to study in any local shit institution are not considered "scholarships".
They are more like bursaries and financial aid for poor losers.
And you seem to dream that in other armies, all the pilots become generals. You've obviously not worked in any place with more than 3 employees before. Someone like you would probably not even get those loser bursaries if you were a foreigner.
yes...pilots in most countries get to make it to generals if they are good....all except yer army that u came out from.
obviously yer army only had very few military people who even deserved that kinda al general rank as they were not talented nor deserving in the first place.
so far i have never seen any real general in spore.those who were admirals, generals got to be the worse kinda officers as seen from george yeo,lhl etc.
why would i want loser bursaries paid by losers like u????i dont need some scholarship??whatever for???.........i will demand from gov whatever i need in the future thats deemed beneficial............
theres no free handouts.

why pay $500 or $50,000 to a foreigner for loser scholarship etc.
use it for fuel instead to train aspiring combat pilots who would make it to future generals, improve the miserable food in the military etc.

you need to go back to school. try..primary 2?
edited: btw, you know how cheap sec school is? $12 a month? local university is so dirt cheap it costs less a year than the amount some people play stocks in one day.
only a super retard doesn't know the difference between shit rubbish crumbs and scraps for foreigners and bursaries and what are scholars. which is why its the same group of people (super retards) who suffer inferiority complex against foreigners most of whom are losers. lol
eh????scholartship??bursaries???people here only interested in pilot training and career.....
money is money crumbs or no crumbs ..n they should go into people who want a career with the military.....scrap or no scrap......every single penny counts ...whether or not flushed down toilet by vietnamese or indian foreigner assisted by spore gov money.
any retard knows that.....u must be general retard of some retarded army not to know that!im lucky im not fighting with retards like ...u are worse than a loser insider.
a fool and his money is soon parted......not only are u a fool....u possibly could be a retarded loser.
no matter.......yer lost is not my problem.
funny,,,,,,,im typing this at 1am and half asleep.....and still i can have more logic and cow common sense.:).
this thread is only meant for people who aspire to be military pilots really.if u want to discuss in depth about foreigners and $$$ given to them by spore gov.....go make yer own thread somewhere else.
people goto restaurant order food and you start to order petrol at the restaurant.........
try not goin to any school......ya fit that description.

do what u think is the wisest choice.......your future is what you make of it.
