Hi I believe I am pes b because of my past knee issue. But the second time I went for the check up, I was given Pes A for all stations and my knee pain when I was young is only due to puberty where I had a 30cm growth spurt in 2 years.
Please submit the hospital specialist memo to the camp doctor to assess and process.

As BMT Recourse is arranged by the NS unit's S1 Manpower Branch, therefore this is an administrative matter.
Please find the Chief Clerk/ DyS1/ S1 Officer for assistance.

No, because these are easily treated with oral medication drugs and apply-on cream/ ointment such as Hydrocortisone 1% Cream.

Hi,
I am currently a pre-enlistee and I have just been to MRI and specialist as refered by CMPB. The doctor wrote the diagnosis as L4/5 mild disc buldge with small annular tear at L5/S1. No neural compromise. Pes Planus at left foot may be a contributing factor to Lower Back Pain. I would like to know what Pes will i get? Thanks!
It's within PES C range.
Hi,
I am currently a pre-enlistee and I have just been to blood test and ECG specialist from NUH. The doctor declare that i have hypertension (high blood pressure) 142BP and i am on medication now and I also suffer Hives (Urticaria) as well. Doctor has wrote a hospital type written letter for me and gave me the blood test report etc. May I would like to know what Pes will i get? Thanks
It's within PES B1/ B2/ C range, since it's dependent on condition severity.

Please personally go to the camp medical centre directly and request for an official explanation. Ask nicely.
No BMT Recourse since you have already completed a BMT course, even though it's the PES C BMT syllabus.
To clear your doubt, the first thing is to ask politely the registration counter medic to check with the MOPA medic (Medical Officer's Personal Assistant/ Medical Board Medic-In-Charge).
If the reply given to you by the medic is unclear/ unsatisfactory to you, the next step is to report sick as usual to speak directly to the MO.
Hello this is my first time posting here, i have one question to ask.
I have fractured my right forearm two times before. First time I just need to put a cast but before it full recover, I fractured it again. This time I have to undergo operation since it's quite serious and the doctor say it's very hard to fix back if I were to fractured it again. However it's about 5years ago and I don't have any medical reports or xray. That time I was in NUH and I asked for the xray but the doctor never give me and say he will keep a record of it.
On the day of the medical check up before enlistment I told the medical officer that I fractured my forearm two times and undergo operation one time to put in metal and another time to remove it. However I don't have any medical report so I didn't show the medical officer and I am given Pes B.
I just finished BMT and throughout the BMT I have fear of breaking my forearm again. A lot of time I can't concentrate on the training as most of my mind is worrying about my hand. And my hand does hurt sometimes when carrying heavy things.
So I want to ask whether for my condition can I get down pes and get to some vocation that don't required any heavy load or any stressful vigorous activities that requires the hand.
I also have some skin problem and have acne and a lot of black marks that is formed after the acne recovered. All my back have the black mark and acne. And my body itches especially when I sweat. I went to NSC for around 1year but the problem is still there. However I stopped going back to NSC recently since I enlisted.
So is it possible I have any chance to down pes?

Hi i went to see my family clinic which i have been going to when i gets the rahes and he said that i have Atopic Dermatitis so do i need to go to the mo to tell them this or i just have to keep on with my medication which cause drowsiness daily. I hope not to keep taking the medicine cause it affects my daily work.
You can try but please don't hope for the stay-out excuse since there are many excuses the MO can give you for a few days/ weeks/ months.
For example, excuse uniform/ outfield/ camo cream/ sweaty or dusty environment...etc.

FYI, PES is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PULHHEEMS.
1) Go to Public Hospital / Private Specialist.
Note: You will be classified as a subsidised patient if your first visit is via:
2) Consult specialist, and
do whatever medical check ups required. E.g. physical
exam, blood test, x-ray, CT scan, MRI scan.
3) Specialist gave a finalised clinical diagnosis.
4) Get the specialist to write you a
memo which is to be given to
SAF MO. Those who can and are willing to spend some
more money can get him/her to write you a specialist report,
which is more precise and detailed.
Note: For not to
waste time and money, please be more direct yet humble. Request the
specialist to write about reviewing of PES and medical
board / anything specific such as any
excuses to your conditions.
5) Book an
medical review appointment using the eHealth module @ www.ns.sg (for NSman
Reservists).
Just go down to your camp medical centre
(for NSFs).
Call CMPB @ 6373 1340 to request another
PES review (for Pre-Enlistees after CMPB
Checkup).
6) Make a trip down to the respective unit camp medical centre. Give the MO whatever supporting documents you have in hand. E.g. Specialist memo/report (most usually the case and highly recommended), x-ray films, CT/MRI scan report, blood investigation lab report... etc.
7) MO will decide whether you are deemed eligible for KIV downgrade, according to the criterias set in the "PES Bible" directive. E.g. Diagnosis, Extent of Diagnosis, Degree of Diagnosis/Injury/Illness/Disease...etc.
8) If deemed so, you will sign an acknowledgement notice of Medical Board, whereby your case statement is prepared for review discussion at the monthly medical board meet (usually at the Formation/Division HQ) with another NSF CPT MO and the Chairman (SAF Regular Medical Doctor of MAJOR rank or above). Your Medical Board result will be post mailed to you by your respective NSHRC (Formation NS Hub).
Time and time again, the questions for Medical Review (Downgrade) is repetitive. Therefore, this serves as a general SOP for Medical Board.
Extract from www.mindef.gov.sg/nsmen:
NSmen must update their NS HRCs if they should
develop any new medical condition or if their existing medical
condition has worsened which might affect their ability to perform
their duties during ICT. Arrangements will then be made for them to
attend a medical review at the SAF medical centre to assess their
fitness for NS.
The NSmen MUST bring along all investigation results and
memorandums from his external physician/specialist during the
medical review. Depending on the outcome of the medical review, the
NSman may be given a medical certificate to defer him from ICT, be
scheduled for a medical board to downgrade him if his medical
condition is significant, or referred to a restructured hospital
for further investigation. In the event that the medical officer
determines that the NSman’s medical condition will not affect his
ability to participate in the ICT, he will allow the NSman to
attend the ICT.
Hi, I'm currently pes B and am a NSMan. I up-pes from C9L3 after I ORD-ed. Apparently I have co-morbid depression and anxietu which is affecting my studies by quite a bit, any chance of a down pes and to what usually?
More importantly, it has been about a year since I last went for a Medical review and was told that I will be boarded. However, times have passed and this was still not done. Also, my IPPT excuse of 90 days have expired twice already (even the renewed one). Now I'm also pending a charge for defaulting the IPPT, is there any advice for this or this isn't the right place? I just feel this disrupts my university life as I may have important lessons and with the court order, I can't go. Thanks.
