During the reservist I had just last month ago, the regulars all commented how safety was a priority following the high profile deaths in the army, and MO are to permit all cases as genuine...which means that they want to remove the stigma of reporting sick due to even minor cases...commanders have also been ordered to task safety as number 1 priority. I think it is a step in the right direction considering how the older batches were treated...if you know what I mean...The regulars even commented that the saying among them is that Army is more like a child care center these days...
Hi 02194, I downgraded due to high BMI. My unit seldom revocate NSMen. Only those who have specialised vocation, such as storeman or drivers, might be posted out to other units in the same formation.
My last ICT had a PES E NSMan. They just got him to help with sentry and simple duties. So when even PES E is not revocated, there's no chance for C9 to, in my opinion.
I think you don't need to worry, if you follow the guidelines you will be ok.
hi im class 3 allergic to all 3 kinds of dust mites and class 2 allergic to seafood. my specialist says i will probably excuse stay in but he didnt say it in my memo. what kinds of status will i get from these allergy?

Ultimately, its up to the Medical Board to decide your case....your specialist letter must be strong and highly specific....

Maybe your case is unique....you are already non-combat fit (C9), so revocation is not necessary? If you had completed your BMT and Pes C9 came after that, its unlikely they will revocate you...unless the unit requirements, like you'd said.
Originally posted by off_service:I think revocation depends on your unit's operational needs. I was downgraded 3 years back to C9L3. This year, I called my unit S1 to ask if it's possible to revocate me to a non-combat vocation.
She replied me that it is impossible for me to revocate. The only solution now, according to her, is for me to inform the commanders during in-pro that I am now C9L3 so they can give me sedantry duties to do.
I believe similar arrangement is also used in 02194's unit.
Revocation requires new training and lots of efforts and time....Its more likely that they post out people than to revocate someone within the same unit.

I only became C9L3 on my 3rd ICT, completed my full time NS as PES B.

For the last 2 years, my unit has been actively posting men with non-combat PES to other units within the formation / camp. I guess they are only choosing those who are trained in their vocations, e.g. medics, drivers, storemen, etc.
Truth is I'm also the only few non-combat PES NSMen (other than HQ drivers, clerks) in my company, probably that's why they won't really be bothered.
ocd, adhd, gad , social anxiety disorder, can pes wat?

Hi eac,
Hoping to get some opinions and advice from you and fellow forum users about my situation.
Previously in BMT, my allergic rhinitis started flaring up as I moved on to BMT phase. (I'm PES BP and there's two phases to BMT, the PTP phase followed by military training) I went to a polyclinic and was subsequently referred to the ENT specialist at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. After going through an allergy panel test, I was shown to have a pretty bad allergic reaction to dust, smoke, small pests I.e. dustmites and the like, as well as moderate to semi severe reaction to pollen and grass. I requested my specialist to write a memo as per directions to get a medical review.
Upon return to PTMC, I presented the relevant documents but the MO merely skimmed a look and told me he could do nothing for my condition saying that allergic rhinitis is a B1 class condition and he gave me an excuse smoky and dusty environment. This status too was disregarded by my commanders who pushed me through field training and field camp, which I completed with tremendous difficulty, sneezing every other few minutes.
In my new current vocation, my condition has taken a turn for the worse, with high humidity adding to my triggers. My condition now also causes giddiness, headaches, chest tightness and pain, and loss of focus. I still have my panel test results and the previously mentioned memo and am seriously hoping to be able to request a review and preferably downgrade my PES status as my condition interferes with training very badly.
Could you offer me any advice on my next course of actions?
Thank you very much.
On your next hospital specialist visit, you are to get a strongly-worded specialist memo.
Meanwhile, since you are posted to your present vocation in a new camp, please re-submit all the supporting documents again to a new MO to relook for PES review.
Please submit the hospital specialist memo to the camp doctor to assess and process.

Does 11B covers surgery cost for ganglion cyst removal? i got a cyst lump on my hand cause some slight pain and inflexiblity on fingers currently still awaiting enlistment on november should i wait unitl when i enlist then remove it?
In general, all general surgeries are covered by the 11B ID card.
The exception is, cosmetic surgeries are basically not covered.
good day all.
if i ticked i wish to be present in the medical board review but am unable to attend it due to duties which i cannot find a replacement for, would they postpone my review?
or there is no difference to whether i am present or not?
Please call directly to the medical centre itself to check.

Hi,
I've been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism this year and my first reservist is this week itself.
My hyperthyroidism is permanent as the doctors told me I have to be on medication for the next few years.
What would my PES status be? I've read similar cases online and they got a PES E straight.
Also, while waiting for review, will they make me stick around and stay in camp?
Thanks loads.
It is within PES E range.

Hi,i.m an nsman, going for ict few weeks time
My vocation is infanty ,rifleman
I have a memo from govt hosp,i am diagnosed with hypertension,on medication but the bp not controlled
i try to book a medical review but the slots are full,i'm worry because ICT starting very soon and yet i have not update SAF my conditions
Any idea whether can i downgrade?
Will i still be told to go field camp since i have not see the MO yet.
Thanks
Please call the NS hotline at 1800-3676767 to ask a customer service officer for assistance.
If still cannot schedule medical review before ICT, you are to in-pro as per normal, but then later report sick at medical centre to show the hospital memos to the MO to get MC.
Thereafter, request for a medical review at the same time.
Please submit the hospital specialist memo to the camp doctor to assess and process.
