I also have a history of asthma. What PES do you guys think I’ll be given?
Most likely PES E

Hello, I'm new to sgforums so I hope this is the correct place to pose my question.
I am currently a final-year poly student waiting for my ns medical screening. I have been diagnosed in SGH with synovitis, an inflammation of the lining of the joints in my right arm. This causes severe pain to shoot through my arm when I lift it above my head or when I bend my wrist and fingers. As a result, I'm prescribed strong anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve the pain. This condition seems very rare as I cannot find much info about it locally. What kind of PES status am I likely to get?

Why didn't your friend go for one? Retina detachment can result in irreversible blindness if not treated. It's considered a medical emergency in most cases.

Not sure. I never ask him.

Wad's this medical term? can explain in layman terms?
thanks for expressing concern. according to doctor's words, it seems like an innate medical condition that affects my body's ability to alter the blood pressure to suit the body's needs. for instance, i can't work in a stressed environment because under tremedrous stress i might blackout because of my body slight latency in raising its blood pressure.
Hi all,i am currently serving my ns.I am pes e9 l9 temp.I was given pes e due to hyperlipidemia(high cholestrol).Recently,i was told by my doctor that i have hypertension as well.I am on medication for both my medical conditions. Moreover, i had severe chest pains earlier this year whenever i used to exert myself whenever i try to run and do other physical activities.I still do have these pains which comes and go every nw and then.So jus to check i when to the A&E in CGH and was told to go for ECG and CT angiogram scans due to the symptoms of probable blockage in my artery. But the results show that my arteries are clear. Thus CGH has not followed up with appointments for my chest pains but have given me an open appointment if my condition becomes worse.
I was told to go for a pes review a few weeks ago since my pes status has expired.I explained to the MO about my condition and my pain that i still have but he seemed not to be bothered. He just say that they had to get a memorandum from my cgh specialist for my chgest pains and then board me.So despite all these problems i have is there a chance for them to up pes me??

Wad medical conditions u have now?
I would like to check for "shoulder impingement injury stage1", "swimmer's shoulder" or supraspinatus tendoniosis. What is the proper Pes status for it?
Thank you very much.
Hello. I am an NSF currently in the rifleman vocation, PES B L1. 3 months ago in early May, I had an in-service injury, injuring my left shoulder causing strain, inflammation and interrupted sleeps daily. After 3 weeks of ex UL status, the camp MO gave me OOC status with 2 months light duties based on my specialist suspicion that I have a rotator cuff tear injury.
However, during the month of June and half of July, I was made to become store party, ammo party and also follow the fighting fit to numerous outfield. Even worse, despite sounding out that I have to go for my first physiotherapy appt,it was postponed twice (worth 3 weeks).
In July, during my first physio visit, my condition was very bad despite given the status of light duties.
To make matters worse, I was chosen to be a temp storeman for my coy. Ex Upper limb n doing storework do not match.
When my MRI scan results came out, the MRI report stated that I have supraspinatus tendinous interstitial tear. The specialist letter stated "KIV downgrade, kindly consider ex UL, heavy loads". Hence the MO gave me 3 month status of ex rmj, HL, UL, overhead heavy objects but did not board me. However, this does not work. I m still a temp storeman.
Just recently, my specialist says that i should not be doing store work. Hence he recommended clerical work. Eventually, the MO wrote a memo to my coy office saying that i only can do desk-bound duties. However i cant since my officer says that priority goes to those already downgarded, hence still a temp storeman.
Also, my physiotherapist says that my condition sometimes improves and worsens because of store work.
Qns to ask:
1. Should I visit the camp MO again?
2. Should I see my specialist asap?
3. If my camp MO decides to board me, what pes status will i get? PES C2L2 or something else? Temp or Perm if I were to do surgery?

-Act stupid, if you have shoulder pain, see the MO and ask him what to do. Take it just like fever and flu. If you have flu today you see the MO, three days later , you have not recovered, MC expired, you see MO again, three days later you have not recovered again, MC gain. You do that for other diseases, why dont do it for shoulder injury? It is a fact that your shoulder has not recovered and you dont know what to do. So consult your nearest doctor.
- Your specialist cannot help you, unless you want do a surgery or something. But he can recommend you downgrade or change of vocation.
- You may have minor cuff tear, but if it is not serious, you may not need to downgrade, and rarer you are given a long rest. If you have a major tear, it should be C2 L2, excuse chin up for IPPT.
- After you are downgraded, then the system will "officially " allow you to be posted out as other vocation.
hi guys and eac,
just wanted to ask, if i have high cholestrol, will i be downgraded and to which pes? furthermore, how high is high before it is considered?
thx guys, sorry to trouble you.
Hi all,
My situation is as follows: I've been having chronic lower back pain for close to a year already. Seen the MO, who then referred me to an orthopaedic specialist. Did an MRI, for which it showed that I have a dessicated L5/S1 disc with a small annular tear and posterior central protrusion. No nerve compression was identified.
As such, I'm wondering, will my condition warrant a down PES of any sort? Thanks.

PES C or E I think.
As per Jerrick's post, how high cholestrol level to be to be considered for downgrade since medication is on for life.
Need some advice here
I'm an NSman, riflemen in a combat unit currently Pes B.
I have being diagnosed with hypertension, readings is about 150+ taking two types of medicines.Went to NUH medicine clinic got the specialist letter stating i'm not suitable for any physical training and activites until further investigation is done.
I also went to the NUH caradic specialist refer by NUH A & E since i was admitted before due to shortness of breath, chest pain as well as heart beating very fast, the specialist also write a memo stating i'm not suitable for any physical training and activites and give me a 3 months MC to excuse all physical actitivies.
Hence i bring everything to the MO for a medical review and he refer me to the medical board.
My ICT is coming very soon and i do not know when the medical board will give me my result and so i apply for deferment after calling the SAF hotline and being advice by the officer .
I fax all the supporting documents but was surprised that it was being rejected due to incomplete documents but the documents was from NUH. I call my unit and ask, they just told me to wait for medical board.
Hence i will like to ask for advice from old birds what are the options i have now,my condition is already affecting my daily life and work i don't believe i am able to endure the out field training anymore.

Most likely PES C though. No lower than that.
