Hi all, I've been diagnosed with costochondritis. Will I be eligible for a pes review?
Thanks!!

FYI, PES is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PULHHEEMS.
1) Go to Public Hospital / Private Specialist.
Note: You will be classified as a subsidised patient if your first visit is via:
2) Consult specialist, and
do whatever medical check ups required. E.g. physical
exam, blood test, x-ray, CT scan, MRI scan.
3) Specialist gave a finalised clinical diagnosis.
4) Get the specialist to write you a
memo which is to be given to
SAF MO. Those who can and are willing to spend some
more money can get him/her to write you a specialist report,
which is more precise and detailed.
Note: For not to
waste time and money, please be more direct yet humble. Request the
specialist to write about reviewing of PES and medical
board / anything specific such as any
excuses to your conditions.
5) Book an
medical review appointment using the
eHealth module @ ns.sg (for NSman
Reservists).
Just go down to your camp medical centre
(for NSFs).
Call CMPB @ 6373 1340 to request another
PES review (for Pre-Enlistees after CMPB
Checkup).
6) Make a trip down to the respective unit camp medical centre. Give the MO whatever supporting documents you have in hand. E.g. Specialist memo/report (most usually the case and highly recommended), x-ray films, CT/MRI scan report, blood investigation lab report... etc.
7) MO will decide whether you are deemed eligible for KIV downgrade, according to the criterias set in the "PES Bible" directive. E.g. Diagnosis, Extent of Diagnosis, Degree of Diagnosis/Injury/Illness/Disease...etc.
8) If deemed so, you will sign an acknowledgement notice of Medical Board, whereby your case statement is prepared for review discussion at the monthly medical board meet (usually at the Formation/Division HQ) with another NSF CPT MO and the Chairman (SAF Regular Medical Doctor of MAJOR rank or above). Your Medical Board result will be post mailed to you by your respective NSHRC (Formation NS Hub).
Time and time again, the questions for Medical Review (Downgrade) is repetitive. Therefore, this serves as a general SOP for Medical Board.
Extract from www.mindef.gov.sg/nsmen:
It is crucial that you update your NS
HRCs if you develop a new medical condition or if an existing
medical condition has worsened, which may affect your ICT
performance. This is so that arrangements will be made for you to
attend a medical review at the SAF medical centre to assess your
fitness condition for NS.
You MUST bring along all your investigation results and memorandums from
your external physician or specialist during your medical review.
You may be given a medical certificate for ICT deferment, be
scheduled for a medical board to downgrade you if your medical
condition is significant, or be referred to a restructured hospital
for further examination depending on the outcome of your medical
review.
If your medical condition is deemed suited for ICT participation by
the medical officer, you will then be allowed to attend
ICT.

all! I'm at my wit's end so here I am posting here hopefully someone can give me some pointers as to what to do next.
So a month before I POP-ed, tekong doctor realise there's an abnormal lump around the bottom of my neck and set up an appointment at CGH. He asked if I wanted downpes then, obviously not because I've already done all the high-keys and I'm a month away from POP. He suggested I wait for the appointment and probably will downpes when I get posted to unit.
Today I went to see the specialist at CGH and the doctor confirmed it was a thyroid nodule. He did 3 tests, a nascendoscopy (put some camera wire down both my nostrils to the back of my throat), drew blood twice directly from my thyroid nodule (he said it was big enough to draw blood directly, roughly 3x2cm) and a normal blood test.
The blood test result from the thyroid nodule will take 2 weeks to come in so I have to go back in for a follow-up in 14 days exactly from now.
My issue here is, I really want to downpes. It's not Chao keng or anything, but this lump really affects me quite jialat, swallowing feels fucked up. I cannot breathe right when doing PT and find myself constantly out of breath. My palms are sweaty almost always no matter where im at (hot or cold room) and I have trouble sleeping every night, keep waking up constantly.
I have browsed several posts here on sgforums and everyone agrees that "no specialist memo no talk". And I absolutely agree except the specialist today was of no help.
The nascendoscopy he did today was probably the most nonsense thing I've heard. When he looked into my airway and all, he concluded that the thyroid nodule wasn't affecting the airway at all. Yes normally of course it doesn't, but when I exert myself (even doing simple push-ups or pull ups especially, the thyroid lump will "choke" me and I can't breathe).
Doing any PT causes me to feel like I'm being choked it's like holding my breath. I told the doctor how I felt, but he insisted that my shortness of breath has nothing to do with my thyroid??? Instead he suggested an ECG and CCR because my shortness of breath might be due to cardio or other respiratory issues.....
He sent me back to camp with a very disappointing memo. I was hoping in his memo perhaps he might've stated "recommend for downpes" or something of the sort but there wasn't.
This is where I'm very worried, the guards training is really taking a toll on me, physically and mentally. And I keep pushing myself. Last week I went to see the bedok camp MO and he only gave me a excused running? Because he felt like it was only the first week of training.
I almost passed out during the route march we had last week.
I'm really about to go kisiao already. What is my next step? I haven't passed the memo to camp MO I'll probably do it Thursday or Friday. What kind of decision will he make? Should I just tank for the 2 weeks until my blood test results come out or what else can I do? The training really got me fucked up quite bad and my thyroid isn't helping at all.
Thank you for reading my super long post, if you have any insight or advice please please please help me out here thank you!!!

Hi all,
I am a pre-enlistee and I just recently gotten my PES Status and i was quite disappointed that i got into PES C2L9. I do not have any medical conditions other than being lactose intollerant. I went to the hospital once due to excess mucus in my nose and also blocked my left ear. The cause was by lactose products. But my tolerance for milk product has improved. I consume milk products now and will not have any symptoms unless i consume large amount of it.
The medical records state i have permanent excuse from milk products, field trainings. I have requested for my medical records from CMPB as i wish to be posted to PES B for a Normal BMT and not Modified BMT.
I have called the NS hotline to ask about my medical report and they said they are unable to check and just told me to trust the medical professionals. The medical "professionals" at the ECG used alot of force when placing the wirings and caused my heart rate to spike and i was not the only one who experienced this. And i went to NHC just because these "professionals" just wanted to get it over with. I checked with the nurse when i took the heart test and she said it was fine. So i doubt there is an issue with my heart <3
So my concluding questions are
Q1 : Is allergy to milk products so severe that they don't certify me as combat fit?
Q2: Should i still take the medical report (will cost me $80 if i request)? I heard from my brother that i MAY not be able to UP PES
Q3: If i request to UP PES right after i enlist and is approved, will i have to wait for the next batch of PES B recruits? or will i serve in PES C anyways till i POP?

Hi,
My question is a bit similar yet different from everyone else, I have a condition but I want to upgrade my PES. I have ADHD, though I'm unaware of it's severity, and I do take meds for this. My psychiatrist has mentioned that I may be classified as PES C. I will be enlisting in about 3.5-4.5 years, so what should I do in that time to ensure that I get classified as PES A?
Before you ask me why I want to up PES, let me answer beforehand. I just don't think I can come home after ORD and tell my family and friends that I was a soldier if I'm not even trained for combat.

Hi,
I have visited CMPB the 3rd time today. My 1st checkup was on the month of August and I did every test. All seems fine except for ECG.
They told me to return again, so I did on the month of October. After analysing with the ECG machine, report states abnormal ECG. MO told me my heartbeat rate was unusual, high at 113. He requested me to redo on the spot and report came out heartbeat rate 115. So they told me to come back on December, which is today again for further review.
So today, I went again and tested ECG. Stated some other reasons which I can't remember. MO told me to return and put on ABP device to monitor blood pressure 24 hour on Jan 2017.
Will I still be able to get at least a PES B1?
