The recent SAF Day saw a lot of army personnels promoted.
I've seen these promotions in my unit:
CPT/1 XXX promoted to CPT/2 XXX
MAJ/1 XXX promoted to MAJ/2 XXX
LTC/1 XXX promoted Super LTC XXX
Anyone mind explaining to me the difference between the ranks? Anyway, the Super LTC is real. I saw in from my formation RO. Unless the registry clerk is trying to play a punk that day.
You mean Senior LTC....
it's e grade difference if you're mentioning e nunmbering.

Nono.. I'm double sure I saw Super LTC.. lol..
Its a senior grade for each rank. Used to have LTC1 to LTC2 but i guess they changed LTC2 to Snr LTC.
Super LTC? sure or not, super means wear underwear on the outside and can fly. lol
superior LTC
Now got new ranking system?
sounds like a pay grading system to me.
When you enter the senior ranks in officership, there's a very long period of time before your rank goes up again. E.g. CPTs take 5-7 years to go up to MAJ, so on and so forth, with the exception of SAF scholars who go on a fast track for the star. Hence, each rank is sub-divided, unofficially in name and officially in usage, into stages, so as to reflect how soon you can get promoted. E.g. if you are a LTA who has served 4 years already, consider yourself LTA2, because 1 year more and you are a CPT.
Anyway there's no such thing as Super LTC (sounds pretty lame some more). It's called Senior LTC, 2 crabs with a laurel leaf base (like those in the general ranks). It's a newly-implemented rank alongside the 3WO.
super LTC is probably LTC on superscale... means his pay scale is on superscale... They do have a new senior LTC rank, which is higher then LTC superscale...

Jaadeite is right.
Firstly, there is definitely no such thing as a Super LTC. You probably mistook it as Sen. LTC. Or maybe the Chief Clerk was really playing punk. If it was in the Routine Order, then it probably was no big thing.
Within the Officer Ranks there are further subdivisions, it does not really have any lasting impact on day to day dealings but a Captain of a higher grade would qualify for a higher level of appointment than a lower level Captain. Not to say that CPT/1 is rubbish compared to CPT/2, its just that CPT/2 has more experience. CPT/1 will probably make it to CPT/2 eventually.
Also the the payscale affords them an increment in their salary. How much? Depending if they are on scheme A, B or C. etc etc
-edit-
But maybe the Super LTC finally managed to get into the SAF's top secret Super Soldier Program. (think Captain America, but SAF needs you to be a LTC atleast, instead of CPT) and will be bestowed super powers.
Like invisibility, super strength, flight, telekinesis and able to withstand combat ration for weeks on end.
Yo audiophile, I'm in the service and I'm pretty sure what they mean by super LTC means that the LTC is on a super scale pay... similar to how a CPT/1 becomes a CPT/2. A LTC who holds the rank for a while will eventual have his pay become superscale (something like LTC/1 to LTC/2).

Wow thanks for clearing that up.
All this while i thought that officers were only in 1 of 3 salary schemes. A, B and C. One for Poly grads, one for Degree holders and the third for SAFOS and other scholars.
And that like i previously mentioned further subdivisions in rank and their respective increase in pay grades is not really existant.
But really. Nice for someone from within the service to come and clear it all up!
