I am currently serving my NS,and i would like to disrupt for studying in polytechnic. I am wondering if it is allow? I withdrawn from SP in 09 since i am changing my course,so the army asked me to serve since i am not schooling anymore. The problem is that i am applying for Dip in Nautical studies next year 2011,and wonder if i am successful could i disrupt and go for my study first? Fyi In service for 6months already, next year april would mark 1 year.
No, you can't, so you will have to ORD to get your pink NRIC 1st.

Poly cannot, only JC i think.
And even JC, you need to have served at least 21 months first.
But no harm applying for poly first.
Well... If I don't remember wrongly, you can only disrupt for 3 months and you will need to provide justification for disruption.

No, disrupt is for the length of study.

Yes.
No, you can't disrupt.
There're 2 situations you can disrupt..
i. up to 2-3 months (check your NS handbook to confirm) towards the end of your NS if you're going to university (NUS/NTU/SMU). Private universities, poly etc. are not accepted.
ii. if you're going to study medicine/dentistry in NUS (you must first qualify to enter OCS to be a commissioned officer, Pes A/B and accepted by the SAF to become a Regular/NSF MO upon graduation)
In the first place - you should NOT have applied for a course in poly. You will NOT be released for studying there even if accepted.
