When you run 2.4KM at Maju camp there is a electronic board.
1. What lap number would you see if you are running last lap? 1 or 0?
2. If lap number is 0, what does it mean?
3. If lap number is 1, what does it mean?
4. How many rounds do you run (in the sheltered vehicle shed)?
5. How do you know you finished 2.4KM? What would you see on the board?

it tells you that "HOW MANY MORE LAPS TO GO"...
if at start of the run , run past the gantry it show 6 means u have 6 more laps to complete, likewise after the last round u run past the gantry it shows zero means ur done..
Lol. Never self count how many lap ?
WTF, if I continue to run after it shows 0, it means I running 7th round?

You already ran 6 rounds right, so why worry running that extra round?
So this means I have to STOP after it shows LAP 0, IS IT CORRECT?
You can keep on running after it shows 0, seriously no one will stop you.

Sigh......
The scoreboard will say 6,5,4,3,2,1....
Count using your fingers.... that is six laps, right?
You want to carry on running after 0? Be my guest.

You dont have to stop. You can simply run to your death
In the first place, I find it incredible that there are people who do not count their own laps.
The ELISS scoreboard can screw up, and it does screw up from time to time. Never, ever rely on the scoreboard to count your laps.
I myself experienced such a screwup in my last IPPT (at Bedok Camp). The stupid scoreboard did not go from 1 to 0 as I crossed the finish line. I had to sound off to the PTI to let him know that I had finished the last lap.
Imagine if the TS had been in my position.
He'd continue running. And running. And running.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~
so hard to keep track of how many rounds you ran? its just 6 rounds, not asking u to count every meter till it reaches 2.4km
one
two
three
four
five
six ................
OK thanks, sometimes its easy to miscount, espescially if you are very tired. Sometimes if you miscount, you might run 7 rounds instead of 6, and if you are a GOLD runner, your 7 rounds might still be silver timing. thus it is very important to ensure finish 6 rounds. Hope you understand.

Then you should also understand that what I said was perfectly true. I didn't make up that incident with the faulty scoreboard.
The onus is still on you to count your own laps. If you can end up running extra because you were too shagged to think properly, then honestly, you only have yourself to blame.
Seriously, I still don't understand how anyone can run extra. If you can take the effort to run GOLD timing, then you can take some mental effort to count your laps.
After all, you're only supposed to count to 6. Like that also cannot?
Can, no problem :)
Seems like we can run 2.4km, but the brain is switched off during that period. Still quite pointless.

The vibes that I'm getting is..... one can chiong 2.4km, but his brain will get switched off to the point where he cannot count to 6.
Then in that case, one can charge at the enemy, but his brain will get switched off to the point where he cannot use his rifle.
i wonder how did TS survive his active NSF days one?
No prob with old days, went through with marksman and ippt gold.
Initially new to Maju didn't know 2.4km in vehicle shed equivelant to how many rounds, some places 3 rounds, some 6 rounds, others use treadmills. My concern is not about counting, but how to interprete the electronic board, and the meaning of Lap 0. Ie., if the length of vehicle shed is short (if around 345m per round), it is possible 2.4KM is equivelant to 7 rounds, and Lap 0 might mean last lap.
Anyway, miss count dosen't mean brain gets switch off. A soldier might also miscount number of spent bullets, dosen't mean his brain gets switch off.
I never bothered to count how many rounds I spent, if it goes empty, click click, reload, cock, fire.
