is the ns testimonial crucial in job interviews?
if im not wrong it is only important for jobs in the civil service but can anyone confirm this?
Not really, but its solid proof of your conduct in NS, and that you completed it.

No one can really confirm this with you, since officially, this testimonial is suppose to be able to help you get a job.
But the common knowledge is that this will only help you in applying for government job, and will not help much, if even at all, in the private sector.
no, it's just to show them that you had completed it...
what you do in army... don't quite apply in corprate world....
Got relevance if u go SISPEC or OCS. Cos mean u gt leadership.
Can put this certificate in resume.

not neccessarily command sch, if your job [read: under branches of vocations] bears similarity to the useful jobs outside in terms of the skills needed/involved and perhaps knowledge, it can be very helpful too.
btw many testimonials are generated by those at the top with feedback from those in charge.. for my command it's signed by the HRMC head (indirectly S1 of the command), and it's abit template-like structurally [macham auto-reply but with different key words for different personnel], esp with the adjectives/descriptive words used.
misty is correct, but many at times the management stuff [some of it] learnt from air force, navy and police are quite useful..
I think maybe security job/home team will come in handy and some other jobs.
Jobs which need leadership go SISPEC and OCS will come in handy.
None of my frenz said this certificate gt use. They go interview dun even bring this certificate.
Certificate of service (COS) is just a record showing that you have completed NS - Nothing at all. Everyone has it.
Testimonial matters - but then again.... employers do not take it as a major criteria whether they should hire you. its just a sidetrack to check on your performance at work. it just adds in your chances of being hired, but ultimately your interviewing skills and qualifications matter more.
None of my frenz use this during job interview.
usually most companies will ask for it to be submitted, but as to whether they really refer to it, nobody knows.
I think this cert nt much help.
