Hi all, i am enlisting on Feb 7th later next month.
Are there any unspoken rules about consulting the medical officers in camp? I have been having lower back problems since 2 years ago due to lifting weights. Even though it does not affect my daily life, i am not able to continue lifting weights which makes me :( . Will it be okay if i were to consult the M.O. during my BMT time to request for an MRI? Or is that too imposing for a recruit? Oh yah, i genuinely forgot to tell CMPB about this during my medical. Will that be a problem?
ps: i am not looking to down pes or anything like that. i just want to get this problem of mine sorted.
Which mod change my topic title? It was suppose to read "Pre enlistee question; consulting Medical Officer". Can the moderator that change it kindly change it back to the original? I do not have a slipped disc, and i am not looking to down pes as mentioned previously.
nevermind about the thread title.
Yes just go ahead and ask for MRI, got 'parts' damanged must report, regardless of when during NS, if not should anything happen to you or what SAF can say u nv report this problem to MO and hence absolve themselves of responsiblities.
Somemore, if u take MRI, SAF will pay for you. NSFs usually exploit this to the fullest;repairing their spare 'parts' b4 they ORD. Make good use of SAF benefits since NSFs tended to be exploited the most.
Now already Jan end liao...isn't it a bit too late? What's your current Pes?

Hi, thanks for your input. So it is perfectly okay to see the Medical Officer as early as the 2nd day?

okay can. What are the chances of them sending me for an MRI scan? Are these things case by case? once again thanks for your input.
jus wait for appointment letter after u tell ur MO.
when u report to MO on ur 2nd day, u'll most likely be given an excuse.. at the same time they'll make an appointment for you to get ur back checked out in one of the govt hosps, most likely CGH since its on the east side.
