Sign On MDES: With 1st Degree, The Requirements?

  Been searching for info on MDES (in particular Senior Military Experts) online but couldn't find any. Anyone knows? - Requirements? I know IPPT Pass is a must and PES A/B status. - is the training conducted at OCS and what is it like? Read there is a trainee rank too, like a white colored ME4 rank (but with 1 meepok only)

  Hi The links stated don't really supply much information. The vocation I'm primarily interested in is AEO. I have a B.Eng. (Mechanical Engineering) from NUS. Appreciate if someone can help answer these questions: 1. What's the cut-off age for MDES? 2. Is Enhanced BMT a must? Must we also be selected for OCS? What if we only attended the PES C modified BMT (but subsequently upgraded to PES B)? 3. What is the training phase for Senior MEs like? Is it conducted at OCS and is it similar to the OCS course? 4. How's the selection process like? 5. What are the IPPT requirements like? How about SOC? Same as the others? 6. (Least important but out of curiousity!) Are ME4 issued a ceremonial sword? Do they take part in the Commissioning Parade? If not, what kind of 'graduation ceremony' do they take part in to mark their completion of the Senior ME training phase? Appreciate any informed answers. Thanks.

  I dont think you need to go through the OCS, and all the courses...

  MDES rank is created so that they dont need to depend too much on outside engineers for the current technical support. Bascially, you will work as a mechanical enigneer. They will address you as Mr so and so.

  Anyway you apply first and see if they want you loh.
