Hi all
I am currently serving PTP in Tekong. I failed NAPFA test and thus am enlisted into PTP. I think i have aquaphobia. I must take swimming lessons during the training. However, I have a serious problem. I always feel very stressed and depressed before and after the swimming lessons. During the lessons, I was singled out to receive special lessons by the physical training instructor. No matter how he tried for 8 lessons already, I was still scared and dont dare to lift my legs off the swimming pool's floor. Is there any way i can get excused from water activities? Or can i get down PES? Should i consult a private psychiatrist first and then pass the memo to my MO?
Pls advice and thanks.

Ok firstly If you have serious fear of water, you can be excused swimming with specilaist proof.
You have to get a letter from private/government psychiatrist and endorse it at CMPB.
But ur PES is still B with excused swimming only.
Like If you have severe fear of jungle, you can be permanently excused from jungle terrain.
I have to get it endorsed at CMPB? can i just pass it to my MO or something? thanks.
?????u almost drowned in the past didnt u?????
i love the water only if its in a swimming pool but when i see the wavy lines in pool i always thiink its a snake coming towaards me....

Of course since you are in army, you can go SAF ward or MMI at NUH to see army psychiatrist.
You should do that.
Save money too.
Good to see SAF psychiatrist.
You can book out during your BMT.
I go counsuelling during BMT to escape from my stressful BMT.
Go counsuelling can go to CMPB from Pulau tekong. Shiok !!!
Come back half a day gone.
Agree on the medical review, get it done before something happens. If you drown, you get it, your Platoon Sergent gets it, PC gets it, OC gets it, all the way up to the Minister.
