ORD: Wait 6 months for Reservist NS Unit Notice Letter?

hi guys, i was a cqms in a training institute. my pes status is c2l2. recently i just orded. the burning question in my head now is what about reservist? my unit did not brief me anything about this. i only have pockets of information pertaining to call-up, when you need to acknowledge it and applying of exit permt when you go overseas etc. can someone please enlighten me on this issue? thanks!

dun worry bro, if they arrow u for any reservist unit, they will surely let you know one. But now until the notification of any call-up from mindef, u can just take yourself as one of the few 'forgottens ones'.

As a norm, NSFs who trained together as an organic fighting unit will be deployed to the same NS unit whenever possible. This allows the bonds formed to be maintained as well as strengthens the unit's overall cohesiveness.
Notification Process
You will be notified of your NS unit within 6 months after your ORD. -
thanks man :) normally for the past ord personnels, they will know their reservist unit before they ord. i was informing how come i don know. i also don even know how many cycles i will need to go through. lol some of my friends say half of the cycles required for combat fit personnels.

oh ya. isit true that those personnels in training schools have lesser chance of ns callup compared to those in active units?

No need so kan cheong lah, when they found you a unit, they'll call you up. It's 10 cycle minimum of 7 high keys lah for everyone. Those that come from units like SIR, Armour, Guards and combat unit, they'll most likely stay the same, those that come from schools, eg, Tekong, can be posted anywhere. I think I waited more than 9 months before I knew my unit.

You are right. Since you are from training insitute, you dont belong to any official active reserivst platoon at all. This applies for all the SGT instructors. Normally, they are odd. Unless some1 from 3 guards downgraded and they need some1 in replacement. Especially when you are Pes C2L2, pracitically not very deployable. So you can start praying hard that you would not become the scapegoat of another. So wait for instruction, act blur and stupid.
