Hi all,
I'm currently doing my bmt in navy. However, im planning to go to US to persue my degree and to join a soccer club there. I've heard that i can only get exempted if i renounce my citizenship at 21 years old. I'm only 19 this year.
Could i get disrupted from NS for 2 years, then renounce my citizenship in the states? I dont want to come back to Singapore to continue NS. I'm not very sure if that is allowed. Would the office in charge allow me to do?
Should i get letters from the Singapore Sports Council to support the documents i need. Im mainly going to the states to persue my soccer ambition. What would help?
Thank you very much!
Refer to: www.mindef.gov.sg/nsmen for more information.
Without a doubt, you will still have to serve finish your NS.
That's for sure. No doubt about it, even with the benefit of a doubt.
The Enlistment Act of the Laws of Singapore has everything covered to make sure no one can escape/ evade NS.
