OCS Selection: Citizenship/ PR? Can Choose? Recommend? How?

  HI everyone, I am a permanent resident in Singapore and I am about to get enlisted next year after my A levels. I am interested to join the OCS, but i heard from my friends that PRs are unlikely to get selected. Is that true? Is there anyone whom you know from OCS is a permanent resident?

  To me, its possible but mostly unlikely.

   

  Firstly, if you are a PR, you have another citizenship too right?

  Im not officer, but...

   

  All officers will, extremely likely, require an ISAC card, because you have to file reports and send e-mails and such.

  For me, I failed my application for an ISAC card due to security reasons due to me having two citizenships (One is Singaporean) . So naturally if you won't qualify for an ISAC card in the future, no point making you an officer that cannot connect to the intranet.

  Hi, 

  I am old man, not sure if the rule still apply.  I have a lot of family from overseas, but was born in Singapore, and a citizen.  In that instant, I already take longer time to get the security clearance done, as compared to my peers, more than double their time. 

  So, as Shuaze said, since you are PR, and are citizen of other nation, how to get the clearance done?  So, I suspect you might not be able to get in OCS.  

  BTW, I am an officer, and have not heard of any PR officer.

  it is possible. my batch (I am officer) has a few PRs. roughly around 5% of the cohort. during service term in ocs they will offer you citizenship if you are pr, and it is accelerated application, so usually you will receive it in 2-3 months time.

  as for isac card all officers will have one, regardless of your nationality.

  Actually if u SAF scholarship holder sure go OCS, even if you are just PR.

  ya, can choose anythin u want, only if your father is tony tan or lhl
