Hi guys, Was scheduled a check up in the next two weeks after my compass test. BUT, had a small injury on my finger last month causing some stitches and slight bone crack which will definitely recover in one to two months time. do you guys think this will affect my check up results or maybe I should just postpone my checkup. Regards Ben
sounds bad.they have like 1000 other potential pilots with no recent cracks or stitches.they are pumping in like $200,000 at least for your training. it takes a few years to recover from that lil wound of yours to even feel your finger in question.when u get cut till it needed stitches like i had,you wont be able to lift up your service pistol properly let alone take 2Gs in a F-16 cockpit.
maybe u would be a pilot or maybe not.its all up to fate.
You should give them a call and ask if its possible to postpone your medical checkup first. If that is not possible, at the very least you must let them know about your injury and the fact that it will definately heal in 1 or 2 months time, i don't think they will be that unreasonable. Btw when are you enlisting ?
Well, the system deducts points for every "defect" on your body and those below the minimum score are barred. Someone with one major defect could score higher than someone with a few unimportant bruises.
So, look at the rest of your body (including your physical measurements) and gauge your chances.
haha i see, anyway really try to take care of yourself now. If you ride a bike or play any contact sports you might want to cut down or take more precautions over the next few months especially if you get selected. Its not worth injuring yourself at this point of time.. anyway all the best for your medical!
