I've quite a rare condition, so before enlisting I had a leg surgery, 2 months later I enlisted.
After BMT and vocation training, I had a 2nd surgery + 3 months MC. (Leg graft)
Worked for more than half a year in camp, had 3rd surgery + 4 months MC, (Revision surgery).
Now my doc says I need a 4th surgery, which means more MC. I don't get subsidies for the surgery (Rare condition so need to choose doc, and I started treatment before NS).
So the question is, are there any consequences for servicemen who are on MC for too long? Like repaying back years or something? Thanks!
Heard under 6 months in total, service not extended. Over, ORD is extended for every day, not just days exceeding 6 months.
But I'm not sure.
Shouldn't be if really legit MC but it will depend on the NS department investigation... I got a friend who got into a motorcycle accident... it was gruesome but he had MC for his entire NS period w/o any consequences... other than his liver... :S
My MC is from a national hospital, so its pretty legit. The only issue would be the length.
Btw Alize where did you hear it from?

Nope.
Actually, if you are having MC for too long, you can request to downgrade to Pes F.
There are many people who are enlisted as Pes A, go BMT, break their leg, and on MC for too long. Then eventually, SAF discharge him as Pes F. From injury to surgery, recovery, physio, and finally he can walk. It may take more than two years.

Yup heard of this too. Cant remember if i saw it in directive.
But i have friends who were warned not to take more than 6 months yea.
It's hearsay.
Could be true, could be another piece of regular bullshit.

This directive never exist because personnel is requested to report to camp every 2 weeks, despite of having long MC. And the MC is being endorsed every 3 months if it is attend C. It is consisted a 3 month mc, 1 day break, 3 month MC. Personnel will usually be downgraded by then if the injury is perm or get discarded from NS.

Mmm ... my coy never enforced the rule for personnel to report back.
Instead someone would visit their house to get the MC.
Actually I think most units, will not let personnels report back to camp while on MC unless the personel is full of MCs and the unit suspect he/she to be malingering....
