Lets say i manage to get in to medicine course, how does that affect my ns?
Of cos, most likely after BMT, you'll disrupt from NS then go study, after that come back NS to do MOCC and take your 3 bars provided if you are combat fit.
so you mean i get to leave ns early? by how long?
and what if i only applied after ns and got in?

U still get to disrupt.
Are you applying for local or overseas?
o.O mo-to-be?
local. i know its hard but its worth a try. So i just want to find out how will that affect my ns..
so if i got into the medicine course, i get to leave ns after my bmt to complete my degree, and come back to serve my ns?
and where can i get relevant information on this?
and can i not be defer, but complete my ns first?
PLEASE HELP!
you'll be posted to somewhere after your bmt. If you have a place in yong loo lin school of medicine, you'll be eligible for disruption. After getting your medical degree, you'll go to mocc.
(normally) you can't disrupt if you have a place in an overseas medical school. After getting your medical degree, you'll be eligible for mocc (provided that you intend to return to Singapore).
i still dont get it.. so when can i disrupt? like how long after bmt?
and can i choose not to dirrupt and not become a mo?
some people disrupted during their 2nd to 3rd week in ocs (they had their nus interview during bmt) and I'm not sure about the others. Why do you not want to disrupt?
you can choose not to disrupt during ns. If you are commissioned as an officer during ns, you have obtained the medical degree from nus n have passed the mocc, you will have the rank of a captain during reservist.
if you choose to disrupt during ns, you will be a mo during ns if you have completed mocc.
Of course, there are people who failed mocc.
anyway, why do you want to be a doctor?
you will not earn big money as a doctor in Singapore.
If you have the money, you need not take the nus study bond.
Are you able to work for a month without a single day off?
