But have to live frugally lah.
They were professional soldiers, who are trained to survive in any situation. So being jobless for 6 year is no problem.
Many of the regulars leaving the service at the age of 40 n above is at a serious disadvantage, first, the employers like to employ younger people, those aged 40 will have to contend with the lower salary if they managed to get the job position. The experience achieved in the army might not be relevant to the outside world. They also need to face compeition from the younger workers n the foreign professional.
Humm..depends. Let me look at my friend list.
- 1 from Navy ended up as retail salesmen when he is retired 30s plus.
- My ex-boss become a property agent, now earning double for what he used to earn.
- Severals become PE teachers.
- Severals become ST logistics, ST engineering, DSO!
- One poly lecturer!!
- Several personal trainers (They actually took up external certification on their own effort).
- My uncle become a driving instructor.
- Some security officers and men.
- Some come back as instructors for SAF.
- One kindergarden teacher!
- My other ex-bosses ended up as MPs.
SAF actually have program to train them. Most who get out early are in their 30s.They have to get certification on their own. And actually most turn out to be alright.
