Hi all,
I am the Director of a PTE LTD holding onto 100% shares and I am wondering about pay claims from the SAF during my ICT. Do SAF recognize me as an "employee", or a "self-employed"? As far as I know, I do not have to personally e-file for taxes like a sole-proprietor as the government recognizes me under the "employee" scheme through the monthly CPF contributions submitted by my accountant.
With that said, am I able to claim a "loss of pay" through the employer/employee (MUPS) scheme via Mindef for the days I was at during ICT?
Please note that a Private Limited company operates differently from a sole-proprietorship.
Any help would be great, thank you!

They will consider you as an employee.
You have to prove your salary etc that you have been receiving from your pte. ltd.
Do note that the most impt thing is - when you have makeup claim, you do NOT issue yourself salary or allowances for the time you are serving in SAF.
Otherwise, if found out for any reason, it will be considered cheating.
If you have not been giving yourself a salary, then you need to substantiate how much income loss you will have, based on past directors' fee you receive.
Same way...you need to make sure you discount your own directors fee and NOT pay yourself directors fee for the time you're serving - otherwise it will be cheating.
