As per the thread title, I just got called up for my first 1st ICT thus Oct at age 34. I ord in June 1999....
Since my ORD, I had an accident and was diagnosed with Degenerative Disk Disease about 2 years ago. (DDD. Basically one of my disk on the MRI scan is black in colour...)
Getting the reports and sending it for a Medical Board Review will cost at least a couple hundred dollars.... should I even bother? What are the chances of my PES Status going to E?
Get the reports and sending it for medical review ==> $200.
Don't do anything, and injure your back further ==> much more than $200. Go figure.
No one here is in any position to comment on whether you can downgrade, or what your PES status will be.
All that anyone here can tell you is that you should talk to your specialist for his opinion on this matter. If he feels that you are eligible for downgrade, then you should ask him to write you an appeal letter. Then you can send the letter along with all the medical reports.
The few people I know of with Degenerative Disk Disease are all PES C9L9.
I highly doubt you'll be able to downgrade to PES E.

You should still be going for medical review yearly?
Just ask the specialist to write for you a medical memo, and a MC to excuse ICT, heavy load, lower limb activities and RMJ for a year temp or perm.
DDD can PES C9L9 or E. Especially when the age factor was being added in, things will be different.
