Hey guys, I've been reading this forum for a long, long time. You are always so helpful and offer such great advice! But I have a problem of my own...
I was called up for my checkup on 22 Feb, and was classified as PES A. Couldn't cope with the stress of being PES A, so I went in and came out as a 302 to the army and was downed to PES C2L2.
I was told when I went for my re-checkup that I was going to be enlisted '6 months after my graduation from poly', and I recently graduated late in May, and the letter said that I would receive my notice for NS '2 and a half months before your enlistment date'.
So I went and planned my last holiday before NS, and bought my tickets last month to leave June 19 and come back Aug 7, but received my letter today (7 June) saying I have to report on 31 July at 8.45 am.
So I am in a huge dilemma right now - but I have determined what to do:
1. Call NS Hotline tomorrow to explain my situation and hope for a deferment (but judging by everyone's threads on deferment and not getting it even though they have education and all, I don't think I will get it).
2. Go to a Polyclinic and get my heart problem checked out. When I sprint, all of a sudden, I will get a very high heartrate and have breathing difficulties and my fingers and feet go numb and start having dull aches and pain. Maybe this will buy me some time as I will be re-categorised as PES D and might even down my PES even more?
What do you guys think about my ideas? Do you have some to offer too?
1. pack everything swee swee for both holiday and enlistment day. then you are legally bound to dutifully touch down on singapore on the night flight just before sun rise around 6:30am on 31 July. go eat breakfast with family, then report for enlistment at pasir ris bus interchange at 8.45am. changi airport and pasir ris bus interchange is just a 10 minutes drive by car.
2. unless you assume all other human beings are robots/ cybernetic organism, i wonder who here when sprint/ run fast fast will not sweat, panting/ shortness of breath, fast heart beats to pump more oxygen when exercising?
