Hi, I'm a Sg citizen born in HK, and I intend to sign on in the air force as a pilot. I've passed my compass, medical and interview, just waiting for BMT to come and see if I qualify for OCS. The thing is, I heard that it's not possible to be a pilot as I might be holding 2 citizenships. However i was born before HK went back to China and as of now, I do not have a China passport. Do I still have to renounce my HK citizenship? And if so, can I do it before I turn 21(ASAP)? I'm 19 this year and I do not wish to wait until I turn 21. Help!
If you do renounce your HK citizenship chances will be higher but not sure get in.
Halo? Singapore law prohibits dwi-citizenship.
They will sure vet your application thoroughly. Drop the HK one.
Yes I do know that I definitely have to renounce, but from what I've heard I can only renounce when I turn 21. Is that true? Cuz I don't want to serve NS then wait another few more years before I turn 21 and finally be eligible to sign on air force :/
Renouce HK, take the singapore oath.
u can do all these before 21 by going to ica.
U can check with HK side? some said 18, some said 21.
The security clearances required for WSO is very tight. Very unlikely...
And yes, Singapore prohibits dual-citizenship. That's a very major issue not just for SAF, but the National Registration also...you have to renounce either.
