Hi all,

I just receive sms from Mindef to acknowledge my ops/ mob manning.

What is MyManning @ www.NS.sg?

I saw that {Restricted/ Classified}? What does that mean?

Can someone feed me info?

Mobilisation

Operational Readiness
Operational readiness refers to the state in which our armed forces are able to transform themselves from a disciplined and well-prepared force in peacetime to an effective fighting force in wartime. NSmen like yourself contribute to this operational readiness by reporting immediately to your Mobilisation Centre once you are mobilised.

Mobilisation Systems
Every NS unit has a mobilisation plan. Your unit will brief you on your role in the mobilisation exercises. You can be mobilised at any time. Once activated, you are to report in uniform with your personal equipment, to your Mobilisation Centre immediately.

There are two systems by which you can be mobilised:

Silent Mobilisation System

In the silent mobilisation system, you will be contacted by the following means:

i. Primary Means - The eMobilisation system will notify you via the telephone (home, office or handphone), pager or facsimile. You are required to update your personal particulars through eSelf-Update in the NS portal. You MUST update your contact numbers when there are any
changes to them.

ii. Back-up Means - Personal contact. Mobilisation Orders (SAF 98A/B) or Mobilisation Notice (SAF 98C/D) will be served to your home if you cannot be
contacted through the primary means.

iii. The SAF 98A/B are used only during actual operations while the SAF 98C/D are used for practices.

Open Mobilisation System

In open mobilisation, the mass media - television, radio, Omni-theatres and cinemas - will be used to inform you that your unit has been mobilised. Code words will be announced, and as a mobilised
NSman, you are required to report to your Mobilisation Centre for military service/exercises immediately in uniform with your personal equipment.

Those NSmen who fail to report or fail to do so within the period allowed by their NS unit will be regarded as absentees. They will continue to be regarded as such until they report to their NS unit to explain their absence. All NS KAHs are required to seek prior approval from their HQ if they need to be excused or are travelling overseas during the Standby duration. Disciplinary action will be taken against those NSmen without acceptable explanations. The effectiveness of the system and the operational readiness of your NS unit depends on you.

Mobilisation Manning
All NSmen will be placed on operational manning. You will be informed of your operational manning duties, via the eMobilisation system, 6 months before your manning duty commences. You are required to acknowledge the notification. The
6 months’ advance notification allows you to make the necessary arrangements with your employers to ensure that you are available when mobilised.

Mobilisation Briefing
Prior to your Operationally Ready Date (ORD) or your first operational manning as an NSman, your unit will brief you on the following:

Your unit code words. Stickers will be given to help you and your family remember the code words.

Mobilisation Centre location to report during mobilisation.

Mobilisation means through telephone, handphone, SMS, pager, fax, email or written notices and orders.

Frequency of Operational Manning. Manning occurs about twice a work year during which you are liable for mobilisation exercises.

Special arrangements. If you are performing emergency services, or your immediate absence from your work place may be critical or hazardous to life, you should inform your NS unit and report as soon as your functions are satisfactorily handed over.

During mobilisation exercises, your NS unit may be required to move out for field exercises after the normal reporting is done. The SAF is mindful of the varying commitments of our NSmen, hence effort is made to minimise disruption to their civilian careers when mobilisation exercises are held.

Family Members' Involvement
You are advised to keep your family members informed of your whereabouts especially during Operational Manning Periods. Your family should be informed of how and where they can contact you to facilitate your speedy mobilisation.

Your family members should also be aware of your NS unit’s code words. They should know that you are sometimes required to remain at the unit for a longer period when the mobilisation involves field exercises.

Family members above the age of 16 can acknowledge any call-up notice when it is served at your residence. Upon receipt, they must contact you immediately.

It comprises useful information on:
* Your roles, responsibilities and benefits as an Nsman
* Key administrative and transitional services you need to know and use as an Nsman

For NSF, you are COMPULSORY to complete this package by:
* Reading all the information in all the modules
* Taking the quiz at the end of each module
* Completing the survey at the end of all the modules

Once you have completed all the modules, print a copy of the completion certificate as proof of your effort in order for Chief Clerk to sign your ORD Clearance Form.

Aiyo...have you been to the army before?

Every document in the army has a header to classify the level of confidentiality/security....

RESTRICTED is applied by default to all documents - means you cannot go and print on your blog, give to newspaper, etc... its only for people who need to see...

then got CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET and TOP SECRET....means you cannot tell other people about them..... you're unlikely to see TOP SECRET la...

Feed what info? You been to army or not? They got give you booklet....NS.SG also got information on what to do.....there's also a number to call your unit and ask them what to do if you're really blur.....

What info you want???!
