During BMT, how do you pack your items in the field pack to ensure it is balanced ?
I heard is heavier items on top and lighter items on the bottom, but my sgt said otherwise, heavier items on the bottom and lighter items on the top
?
I don't remember, I just remember whatever needed to be in there fitted in there.
Actually I thought it's personal preference. Is there a standard? I thought when you carry it you don't feel that heavy can already.
there is no standard but just curious how did you guys pack your items in the past.
currently i pack my items stacking upwards
We just pack it till everything goes in. Still want to headache what weight distribution when the pain is from fabric friction burning into your skin.
Unless you are a car or airplane, it does not really matter.
Your sgt is right when you unloaded your field pack.
With the heavier load is stored lower, the pack will not topple and seat properly.
With the heavier load is stored higher, the pack will topple.
Pack for convenience, not balance.
Then give it a few bashes to flatten the bottom.
for me, I just pack whatever that needs to be packed..
and nope, I'm not from the "men in green"..
Anyway nowadays the full pack is no longer top loading, I don't think that bad. The old full pack is top loading, most people full the item u'll need most on top.
i just throw everything in till it fits.
