What is NEW for me?

Prog : IPT, Current System : 10 flexible sessions in 5 wks (Attendance based), Enhanced System : 10 flexible sessions in 9 mth (Performance based). If did not meet PPTs, 8 flexible RT sessions over 3 mths within same IPPT cycle
Prog : RT, Current System : 20 fixed sessions over 2 mths in next IPPT window. Enhanced System : If defaulted or failed IPPT, 20 flexible RT sessions over 3 mths within same IPPT cycle.
3 Ways to Clear your Annual IPPT Requirement
NSman A: Can Pass IPPT
NSman A2 : Have you heard about the enhancements to the NS IPPT System?
NSman A1 : What's the worry? Both of us always pass IPPT each year...We just go and take within the first 9 months!
NSman A2 : That's right!...We're fit and the enhancements do not affect us much. We just take IPPT early and clear it!
NSman A1 : Come, let's go for our weekly run now!
NSman B: Fails/Defaults IPPT & Subjected to RT Programme
NSman B : Sigh...I just failed my IPPT and am required to go for RT...but I've always passed my IPPT each year.
Fit NSman : What happened?! though IPPT is no problem for you?
NSman B : I have been very busy this year...not much time to train. I thought I could pull through the test...I guess I'm just not fit enough.
Fit NSman : Don't worry! RT is now in the same IPPT window and will provide early assistance to ramp up your fitness level. This will help maintain your fitness on a more regular basis. If you do not feel ready for IPPT. take up IPT, just 10 sessions in 9 months! It is better than RT, 20 sessions in 3 months!
NSman C : Volunteers to Partner SAF to train via IPT
NSman C : Hi, I have been attending the enhanced IPT where SAF provides free fitness training to help me pass my IPPT...It's really good. You should join since you have problem passing IPPT!
Unfit NSman : I heard you must meet Personal Performance Targets (PPTs) in IPT...what are these PPTs?
NSman C : The PPTs are scientifically derived and determined based on your current fitness level...It is customised to individual targets!
Unfit NSman : Are PPTs really attainable?
NSman C : There is an IPPT CAT test in the 1st IPT session. Based on my own standards, I was told to improve by just 50 secs to meet the PPTs in the first year! It is definitely achievable!
Unfit NSman : Wow, that's good ! Do we just meet the same timing every year?
NSman C : No, the PPTs increase progressively in levels each year with the aim of improving your fitness. Go look up the NS Portal for complete PPTs table and you will understand what I'm saying.
Unfit NSman : Is It mandatory to finish all 10 IPT sessions?
NSman C : No...you can exit once you have met the PPTs. I met the PPts in the 5th session and I am done!
Unfit NSman : Hmm...is IPT still 5 weeks?
NSman C : No, now we can book individual IPT sessions over 9 months at any FCCs based on our personal schedule.
Unfit NSman : IPT is really attractive...with progress training and also more flexible to schedule training. But what happens if I cannot meet the PPTs?
NSman C : Those who cannot meet PPTs will undergo an 8 session RT to help them achieve the PPTs. You can exit from this RT anytime when PPTs are met!
Unfit NSman : It's good that further assistance is available to help us reach the desired fitness level each year so that we can pass our IPPT soon!
NSman C : That's right. Joining this 8-session RT is better than attending the 20-session RT. I have learnt a lot in IPT so far!
Unfit NSman : Ok, I am going to sign up IPT right away!

Are you physically fit? If you
have been found to be fit for full Basic Military Training (BMT)
i.e. PES A or B1, you may want to take the NAPFA test.
Should you attain a NAPFA Gold or Silver award at least 2 weeks
prior to your Physical Training Phase (PTP) enlistment date, you
will attend a 9-week Basic Military Training (BMT) and enjoy a
2-month reduction in your full-time National Service. Those who
fail to attain the required fitness level will have to undergo a
8-week Physical Training Phase (PTP) before attending the 9-week
BMT.
The NAPFA test is conducted at the Toa Payoh Stadium (map
to Toa Payoh Stadium) every Wednesday (except public holidays).
You are required to book an
appointment for the test via the NAPFA test booking system prior to the test date and you are
only allowed to make one valid booking at any one time.
Please note that the NAPFA result is valid for 1 year from the date
of test. You are advised to report for the test in acceptable attire and punctually. All the six test items must
be completed in one single sessions. A maximum of 2 to 5 minutes
rest period is permitted between any two tests (for the first test
items); a 15 to 30 minutes rest period is permitted before the
sixth test item.
NAPFA tests at Toa Payoh Stadium are conducted
strictly on appointment only. Therefore, advance booking via NS
Portal must be made latest by Tuesday before 12 noon in order to
take the NAPFA test at Toa Payoh Stadium the following
day.
Do note that
pre-enlistees who do not book their NAPFA date via the system would
not be allowed to take their test at the Toa Payoh
Stadium.
If you wish to know more about the NAPFA test, you may want to read
through the FAQ before you make your booking.

test the last time?
