Hello Everyone!
I'm a girl recently graduated from polytechnic armed with a diploma in biotechnology.
I would like to enquire on the pros and cons of signing a SAF bond.
My main aim is I want to pursue a degree at a private university into science-related, and will SAF sponsor/ subsidise/ finance my varsity tuition fees if I sign on with them?
Do I need to work for SAF for a minimum of years before then I can apply for sponsorship?
Will the bond be extended/ "add-on" due to the sponsorship of the degree course?
Since if I am to sign bond, I am expected to work for them with a diploma and to work for a salary, then I will be "suspending work" to study for a degree, come back after completion.
Are there relevant vocations to sign on for?
For example, @ www.mindef.gov.sg/chembiodefence
Can I pick and choose vocations to work with my relevant certificates?
I heard that SAF can only let you choose up to 3 choices, but the final decision is for the SAF HR system post you where to work, just like the PSLE choose secondary school, "O" levels choose polytechnic in JAE.
Thank you.
you write so much.
my firm advise for you -> don't sign on.
if you're really serious about signing on, can consider Combat Engg as your choice of vocation.
Think carefully thrice before you sign the contract.
Once sign, you will be contractually bonded.
Break it and you will have to pay back money and extra monetary compensation calculated by SAF to void the contract.
