SAFRA NS45 Membership
The tenure of the NS45 SAFRA membership will be from 1 Apr 2013 to 31 Mar 2014 regardless of registration date.
All SAFRA memberships expire on 31 March every year, regardless of join date.
Upon verification of your membership eligibility, your SAFRA membership card will be sent to your stated mailing address in 2 to 3 weeks time.
Separate charges apply for membership in interest groups and the use of selected facilities/activities.
Membership is renewed automatically each financial year between 1 April and 31 March regardless whether a member uses SAFRA facilities/benefits. To resign, a member must submit a withdrawal before 1 April.
Membership is subject to approval. All membership subscription fees are non-refundable.
SAFRA will make deductions from a member's pay with a Ministry/Statutory Board, or from the National Service Make-up Pay. The deduction will cover current and advance subscriptions.
SAFRA may obtain updates of your personal data from MINDEF/SAF subsequently to serve you in the most efficient and effective way.
A member found to have misled the Association will have his/her membership revoked.
Members going overseas for work or study for a continuous period of at least 12 months may apply for waiver of membership fees. All waiver applications must be submitted to SAFRA Membership Services Division at least one month prior to departure.
Female spouse and children of Ordinary A/B/Associate/Life members are eligible for Dependent Membership, except for NSFs. Their membership runs concurrently with the principal membership. Its validity and related privileges shall lapse when the principal member resigns or ceases to be a SAFRA member, or is suspended when his membership is not renewed. Dependent membership for the child will lapse when the child reaches 21 years of age.
Associate membership is open to all serving members of the SAF, i.e. uniformed servicemen/women or Defence Executive Officers. Its validity and related privileges shall lapse when the Associate Member ceases or discontinues his/her service with the SAF, unless the serviceman has remaining NS liability in which case the membership will then be converted to the Ordinary A category.
Ordinary A members upon reaching statutory age, i.e. above 50 years for officers and 40 years for other ranks respectively, will be automatically re-classified as Ordinary B members. Ordinary B members will be entitled to all the privileges of SAFRA membership except the right to vote.
Members must notify SAFRA of any change in mailing address and other personal particulars. The Association will not be responsible for any loss or damage that may arise due to incorrect or out-dated records.
SAFRA reserves the right to review or suspend the Ordinary B category membership.
Members shall abide by the SAFRA Constitution and By-Laws.
SAFRA reserves the right to amend any Terms & Conditions without prior notice.
Good Day NSman,
Under the NS45 initiative, you have been accorded NS45 vouchers together with 1 year free SAFRA membership.
We encourage you to retain the membership till its expiry 31 Mar 2014 and we could remove your account from the auto renewal scheme instead. In this way, you will not incur any membership fees.
Do confirm if you are agreeable to this arrangement or prefer to proceed with immediate membership termination?
Best Regards,
Asst. Membership Services Executive
