Hi, I am a PES E recruit at MH HQ Camp as a storeman enlisted a few months ago.
Before I went in, I thought storemen quite lobo one, like sit in storerooms whole day count things.
The store branch have a total strength of 30s people including my QM, RQMS, CCO and CSM. Now the strength is down to 20s after some ORD loh. In a battalion, often is 6 to 8 storemen in a typical unit.
We still have to talk to people from other departments. Time pass by fast when we got something and other things to do and sort out the logistics.
I do clothing stores. I need to indent for people for their different orders daily.
Some eMart things if storeroom can order, sure we can help to order so to save some money for our fellow soldiers, NSFs and NSmen since what for buy from eMart when storeroom can indent from the budget so to give our fellow NS colleagues some breathing room from their low NS monthly allowances. Can help, we help.
We also have logistics meetings too, so we do event management stuff like setting up conference room...and so on.
0800 - 1730 is our working hours. Office hours. Book out daily.
Cannot say so much of our work routine due to restricted.
When the delivery trucks come with orders, we need to sort out which items according to the indent list/ order forms. ALB can either do full or partial delivery to each order forms. Thus, I can't call people to collect all of the items soon as not full. Sometimes, I call people to collect their orders, they can take some time since they also have things to do too. So I must understand too.
Storeman = Warehouse Inventory Checking/ Stock-taking
Stock-taking or inventory checking is the physical verification of the quantities and condition of items held in an inventory or warehouse. This may be done to provide an audit of existing stock valuation. It is also the source of stock discrepancy information.
Stock-taking may be performed as an intensive annual check or may be done continuously by means of a cycle count.[1]
A stocktake sale is a sale with reduced prices in a shop designed to sell off stock from previous seasons. This makes the task of stock-taking easier.
