Sign On: Worth? Wise? Outside No Job? Outside No Good? How?

A little about myself.
diploma in aerospace engineering.
have a uni placing in NTU for materials science and engineering in 2015.
Currently in BMT 1 more week to POP.
Planning to sign on as Airforce engineer ME4 but they told me my university course is not compatible. What can i do about this? Change uni course? but looks like there is not enough time to do that.
2nd consideration is sign on as Army Officer.
3rd consideration is sign on as Army Engineer ME4 but i believe i will not be able to(same as airforce, uni course not compatible)
Any advice?

no worth sign on airforce engineer my friend & my neighbour good eg air force take in alot of tech at 1st each specialize in 1 trade later give golden handshake to alot then the left over have handle 2-3 more trades my friend work like a dog can't take it and left my neighbour got the golden handshake at that age not easy to find job
as for army officer you must like army life very much and do very well i mean really very well & your relationship with your superior must be very good or when you leave the army as a captain at age of 40- 45 you might have problem

i was a army regular for 9 years before i quit the army system i will not comment but like what i said above you must know how to have good relationship with your superior welling to carry black pot for them which i not good at ( not everyone is like that some are good depend on your luck) have to sheng mak do the right thing at the right time
most important thing if you are medically exempted from IPPT for that workyear ensure,be sure & make sure you keep the exempted slip properly if you can't product the slip & the medical centre lost your record they will give you 1 letter of warning with no promotion for 3 years

just serve your 2 years & your reservist cycles there are jobs out there "compatible" for your qualification

you again haha no lah my relationshp with my direct superior not very good since that incident that want me to carry black pot for him giving me hard time then i very chin chai person everyone try take adventage so don't think is the place for me so i left ( also got other reason lah)

yeah stuff like that happens....even in the private sector.
don't be too bitter about it though.... ive got a fren who was retrenched at age 35 with 4 kids. he was upset at first but due to his commitment to his family he persevered.
Got another job...probably not as good (I didn't ask) but he got back on his feet. Back to normal again.

well i alway tell my men before they ORD look for a job you like & enjoy , don't work because the pay is high( slave to the money ) because you like the job you will do well and you will stay in the job long as you progress money will come to you ( master to the money )

that's sound advice....I could have used that when I was younger.
what are your plans? Going to take a break...chill....get the bad energy out...or leap straight in again?

well the moderator probably thinks that's not an appropriate way to let off bad energy.
some of us use the crapbox, post in the noiseology forum or even the shoutbox for that purpose.

currently taking course to improve, what skills i learned in the army can't apply outside except fitness & you wouldn't know unless you tried mindset haha

Yeah its probably easier for me since i never climbed really high.... I guess having to go through it when you were an officer would be the difficult part.
Good news is though there's a high chance that the issue is contained within that same mindset.
And well...I suppose you would know this betta than me....mind over matter.

sorry i afraid i give everyone a false idea i m not an officer , i m a specialist i m relating what i come across, every kind of people be it officer, specialist or men in my 9 years tour what are the good & bad

That's ok.
Specialist or officer.... there would be people you were managing. Managing people. Job title matters little in that aspect. It is a responsibility.
Well the system definitely has its good....bad...flaws but really at the end of the day..... we also have to look after #1....that is ourselves.
Forget about the army/air force or whatever... that is history.

thats correct 1 of the post not up is you have to be very careful not to get yourself injury might last you life time MINDEF wouldn't cover unless you have been hospitalise for that injury

Its good that you are willing to help advice people. I respect that. I'm actually similar.
What I'm worried though is that you have not gotten rid of the negative energy.... it's better to rid of yourself of that negative energy move on with your life....then turn back and help others. That way its easier not to be bias.

TS, maybe you should read up Captain Sherwayn Tan's story online and hopely you will know if sign on is good or bad for your career.
