why you sign on infantry...siong...should sign Airforce, better pay, or if you like Army go Tankee, Armour or Artillery
best go OCS...your education?
March in into the interview room like a real soldier.
Then shout "Good morning, Sirs. Permission to sit down on chair, Sirs!".
Tell the interviewers that you love to chiong sua at Bukit Timah Hill with full combat load and gears of 40kg.
Tell them you love to eat combat rations for weeks and hike several kilometres to reach objectives, then later continue missions after missions to destroy the enemies.
Tell them you love to carry rifle to work everyday instead of a plain office bag/ briefcase.
Tell them you love the country so much that you will willing to die for her in defending and protecting the country.
Tell them you are operationally ready for war, anytime at the moment the buttion is pressed.
Many many years go, when I was doing my BMT, the Singapore Airforce was recruiting Air Executive Officers. A buddy and I thought it'll be interesting to go for the interview just for the heck of it.
The quesitons asked are pretty standard ones such as "what skills do you have that SAF will find valuable" and "why do you wish to become a professonal soldier" etc. Your answer doesn't really matter, the interviewing officer is looking are you how respond and your manner during the interview.
I didn't sign up. Life as a computer engineer is more interesting, fighting wars on Call of Duty is safer too.
And oh, remember: The point of war is not to die for your country but to make the other son of b**ch die for his.
So don't say things like you'll die for Singapore blah blah....it just means you're a moron.
sign on infantry, the salary is the lowest.
better to sign with Guards
@newbie, in that case, ts should sign on navy or airforce because the pay is higher?
TS, I think just answer honestly because they should hold records of your background information. Apart from preparing the question and answer for interview, prepare yourself to show euthusiasm, positive attitude and pride. All these non-verbal signals hold a greater impact than words spoken.
Best of luck!
