DEATH OF A FULL-TIME NATIONAL SERVICEMAN
2SG Hu En Huai, a Full-time National Serviceman, collapsed during a Combat Survival Training session on 21 Aug 03 at 1630 hrs. He was heli-evacuated to SGH where he was pronounced dead at 1817 hours. MINDEF regrets the death of 2SG Hu and expresses our deepest condolences to the family of the late 2SG Hu.
Given the seriousness of the incident, MINDEF is convening a Committee of Inquiry into the death of 2SG Hu. The COI will determine the circumstances that led to his death, whether actions taken immediately to try to revive 2SG Hu after his collapse were adequate, whether the training had been properly conducted and the measures that need to be taken to prevent further such incidents. MINDEF will not hesitate to take disciplinary actions against any serviceman if the investigations reveal any wrongdoing that led to the death.
The Police is also conducting a separate investigation into the death of 2SG Hu.

Pss... got this by word of mouth, apparently this was a training "accident". Some POW training or the like by the regulars apparently went overboard and ended up taking a life. Why do you think that they are treating this matter seriously if that guy just collasped and died? That happens quite often in NS.
Some heads are going to roll, no doubt about that. Even the police are investigating, it's certainly far more then meets the eye then a simple training "accident". -
