  i got both
  
  gortex:
  
  lighter
  harder to brush shine
  the gortex part is hard to clean when muddy
  wears off quite easily
  
  leather:
  
  heavier
  easy to brush shine (my drill boots r leather ones)
  easy to clean
  durable
  
  personally i like the leather ones more. vest slack run oso more shiok.

  wuming is true ... i dont like gortex ... is hard to get the mud out and hard to polish shine!

  i haf heard some conflicting talk abt gortex. some said it was reviewed quite badly saf is taking it out totally. others said it will still be used and as planned will replace the leather ones totally eventually.

  think they did some studies.. and its not always implemented and tts it. tt time think they were thinking of changing the field pack. so my company got to try out new fieldpacks (not everyone) and den give feedback. heard tt the fieldpacks din get good feedback and hence they decided not to go ahead wif it.

  I agree that the gortex boots is definitely more comfortable. Remember the blisters that we have when we first use the old leather boots? However the gortex boots tear easily while the leather ones is very durable and comfortable when its seasoned.

  yeah. wif the leather ones u can almost feel like the boots haf become part of u and u wont even notice wearing them.

  wahahhahaha.. its fun to be the only one in the company to have leather boots while the rest uses Gortex
