Defence Minister glad public and MPs understand need for realistic training

SINGAPORE : Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean says he's heartened by the mature response to the military training deaths.
He said national service is one avenue where boys come out as young mature men, and hopes they'll continue to benefit from the good and safe experience of NS.
Rear Admiral Teo said: "I'm very glad to see that there's a very mature response from both the members of parliament and the public. They understand that MINDEF has to conduct tough and realistic training, and they do expect MINDEF to do so in a professional and safe way." - CNA
